TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! The right has leaped to the defense of Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker. In a commencement speech at conservative Benedictine College last week, Butker urged women to embrace the role of homemaker and wife.  The NY Post’s Kirsten Fleming wins the award for the most offensive justification of Butker’s remarks: “I’m a big believer in knowing and speaking to your audience. And his audience was not the University of Chicks with Hairy Armpits”…Whoever is composing The Donald’s Truth Social posts needs a punctuation lesson. Check out one of the latest error-splattered posts that wouldn’t get a passing grade in 7th grade English…New in bookstores: George Stephanopoulos's The Situation Room.  Subtitle says it all: “The inside story of presidents in crisis.” The “Good Morning America” anchor examines dozens of White House denizens in their darkest hours including John F. Kennedy, Jimmy Carter, George W. Bush, and most notably Donald Trump during the Jan. 6 insurrection…Cliff Sims, ex-Trump White House Director of Message Strategy, just came out with his second tome and I hope it’s better than its snooze-inducing title: The Darkness Has Not Overcome.  Inside, Sims promises to reveal  lessons he learned about  faith and politics while cruising through the halls of right wing power.  His first book, “Nest of Vipers,” published in 2019, received a positive review from yours truly for its fast-paced insider account of the first two years of the Trump administration including a well-deserved devastating portrait of Sean Spicer…If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. The Loony Language of the Left

source: Washington Examiner

Trump does not have, as he famously said during his first presidential campaign, “the best words.” To the contrary, the liberal elite has developed a lexicon far vaster, more confusing, and more insidious than any conservative could muster today.

The Feminization of Campus Protests

source: Washington Times

By highlighting the deaths of the young, Hamas has found its way into the hearts of women. Even though it may not be politically correct to say so, it is clear that the maternal instinct in women engenders great sympathy for suffering children. As a consequence, with Hamas depicting Jews as child killers, it is eliciting an emotion that resonates with women.

AOC and Marjorie Taylor Greene Get into Catfight During Heated House Hearing

source: The Gateway Pundit

The GOP-led House Oversight Committee Thursday evening held a meeting to hold US Attorney General Merrick Garland in contempt for refusing to hand over audio of Biden’s interview with Special Counsel Robert Hur. The meeting devolved into chaos after Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez and Marjorie Taylor Greene exchanged barbs.

Trump and the Significance of the Wildwood Rally

source: American Spectator

Trump’s detractors called the attendees a cult, which is not only designed to insult but also wrong. What was in evidence in vivid fashion in Wildwood — in decidedly blue-state New Jersey — can only be described as a movement.

TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings!  Too early.  That was my reaction to yesterday’s news about the first Biden-Trump debate slated for June 27.  Voters must be fatigued by this never-ending contest.  Couldn’t this verbal slug-fest wait until September?…Right wing knuckle-dragger of the week: The aptly named Kansas City Chief placekicker Harrison Butker.   Giving the commencement address at conservative Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas, Butker urged young women to embrace the role of homemaker and wife.  He dissed Pride Month too and whined that women are told “diabolical lies” about their careers.  The Associated Press has the best recap of his remarks.  Don’t think Butker and his spouse will be double-dating with teammate Travis Kelce and his gal pal Taylor Swift anytime soon…Did not remember this: CNN anchor Jake Tapper, who’s just been tapped to be one of the moderators for the June 27 debate, had a dinner date with Monica Lewinsky in the winter of 1998, just  weeks prior to revelations about her affair with Bill Clinton.  Back then, Tapper wrote a story about that date for the alt-weekly Washington City Paper: I Dated Monica Lewinsky (a masterpiece of minimalistic headline writing).  Even in 1998, the then unknown Tapper showed he could make words dance.  The author of two bestselling novels, Tapper is much more than a talking head with a good head of hair.…If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. DEI on the Run

Red States Are Banning DEI. Why Can’t New Hampshire?

source: Granite Grok

DEI is simply the sublimation of anti-white racism. Individuals are simply a factor of their skin color, and whatever other identity factors the Democrat Party decides are oppressed and need protecting. That fill-in-the-blank is too white, too male, too Christian, too heterosexual.

MIT Breaks with DEI in Faculty Hiring

MIT is getting rid of DEI statements in its faculty hiring process, but it is likely too late to reverse the damage already done.

Replacing the Commission on Presidential Debates with CNN Is No Win

Now we can enjoy a debate centered around such vital questions as global warming, abortion, systemic racism and whatever other lefty media talking points will be in the mix. Having shed the Commission on Presidential Debates, it’s time to shed the media. America can do better.
