The outlet notes that because they sense their politics  lean more to the left of many of their students, many academics are keeping their voting preferences to themselves…One benefit of all the presidential politicking in October is that I am now well-versed in the meaning of “fascist”… My two cents: If you begin to tell an anecdote with the phrase long story short, you have automatically made it longer…Weekend Watch Retro Edition: “Ides of March,”  the 2011 political thriller,( a $3.99 rental on Prime; coming to Max Nov. 6), sports a superstar cast, including Philip Seymour Hoffman, George Clooney, Paul Giamatti, Jeffrey Wright and a young Ryan Gosling (see trailer). Joe Biden, baby biter.  Breitbart published an image of President Biden who looked like he was biting the leg of an infant during the White House Halloween party yesterday.  The photo was originally posted to X by the North America editor of Reuters Pictures…Dept. of Surprises:  Foxnews.com published an op-ed by Governor Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI) yesterday urging readers to vote for Kamala Harris “who will build a better future for our girls”…Dept. of No Surprises: In today’s Foxnews.com opinion section, former European Union Ambassador Gordan Sondland, who testified against Trump in his 2019 impeachment trial and was subsequently fired, has written an article about why he’s changed his opinion of the ex-POTUS.  Cynical me wonders what ambassadorship Sondland has been promised for the endorsement…I’ve been told that the Unleash Prosperity newsletter is becoming more popular with conservatives who are not mucking about in the right wing fever swamps.  I may have to start reading the newsletter which is edited by Steve Forbes, chairman and editor-in-chief of Forbes Media…Liberty Nation declares the October surprise has finally arrived and it’s – drumbeat – garbage.  I also nominate it as the word of the week….Vanity Fair special correspondent Joe Hagan answers the question that millions are asking in 2024: how could anyone vote for Trump?
