TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings!  Just like old times: Congress certified the results of the November presidential election yesterday and thousands of violent demonstrators didn’t descend upon the Capitol building and try to derail the peaceful transfer of power…Worth noting: the right-titling editorial page of The Wall Street Journal has come out against Trump pardoning the J6 rioters.  “Pardoning such crimes would contradict Mr. Trump’s support for law and order, and it would send an awful message about his view of the acceptability of political violence done on his behalf,” the Editorial Board of the Murdoch-owned newspaper wrote…In case anyone is nostalgic for a somewhat wise and caring White House as represented by President Josiah Barlett in the acclaimed NBC drama “The West Wing,” fuhgeddaboudit! The Max streamer quietly removed the show late last year.  However, here’s a compilation of the program’s 10 most memorable moments…Picky, picky: Podcaster Megyn Kelly criticized the way President Biden held Liz Cheney’s hand while presenting the Presidential Citizen Medal to her last Thursday.  He gripped her hand almost the entire time she was on stage.  “Joe Biden doesn’t know when to let go of any female in his presence,” Kelly said on her show implying that it represents another example of his decline…Don Jr. is traveling to Greenland today, representing his daddy.  Let’s hope he bought a one-way ticket….Mediaite just published my list of the top 10 questions for right wing media in 2025.  Here’s just one question: will Matt Gaetz slip into obscurity as a TV anchor on OAN?...If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting.

TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! CNN contributor David Axelrod wonders if the nation’s history would have changed if the heavy snow that blanketing Washington today happened exactly four years ago on Jan. 6, 2021. (X)…The semi-big news over the weekend was that canceled Hollywood filmmaker Brett Ratner has been tapped to direct an authorized documentary about Melania Trump for Amazon Prime.  It’s worth noting, as the blog Hollywood in Toto reminds us, that there was another documentary about the incoming first lady that was released in 2020. The 57-minute “Looking for Melania Trump” is available for free online.  I gather it's not a flattering portrait…Speaking of Melania, I stumbled across this 16-minute clip of her and The Donald in their first prime time interview with CNN’s Larry King from 2005. Hate to admit it, but they were quite the handsome couple….The progressive-friendly upstart social media platform Bluesky attracted more unique visitors in November than the Trump-controlled Truth Social according to our exclusive research.  However, for the fifth consecutive month, Truth Social registered double-digit gains in traffic.  Here’s the full report…I’ll support any politician who introduces legislation in 2025 banning the hidden password security function that shows passwords as dots or asterisks.  At the very least, it shouldn’t be the default setting.  It’s annoying and time consuming.  OK, that’s enough of me shouting at clouds today….If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. The LGBTQ movement may be small. But it’s grown powerful and influential. It’s driven by demonic forces that care nothing for logic and reason and common sense, and even less for godly virtues that include truth and absolutes, and that instead seek only to destroy.
