TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! Word of the day:  Oligarchy, which the dictionary defines as (1) government by the few, and  (2) a government in which a small group exercises control especially for corrupt and selfish purposes.  Here’s the full transcript of President Biden’s farewell address last night where he warned of an oligarchy in the United States…Dept. of No Surprises: Right on schedule, Trump takes credit for the Hamas/Israel cease fire.  Here’s his boast that he posted yesterday afternoon on Truth Social: “This EPIC ceasefire agreement could have only happened as a result of our Historic Victory in November, as it signaled to the entire World that my Administration would seek Peace and negotiate deals to ensure the safety of all Americans, and our Allies”… The Los Angeles wildfires have now been branded the “Newsom Fires” by American Thinker.  “He is responsible for a state that did not allocate sufficient money and resources to police and fire departments and preventive fire measures. Newsom is also responsible for always having money for illegal aliens and kowtowing to environmental extremists”…The Washington Examiner is calling for the end to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), which was created by President Johnson in the 60s.  The CPB helps fund 1,400 public radio and TV stations…The Federalist lists five reasons why corporate America is abandoning DEI.  Reason #5: DEI doesn’t champion people; it infantilizes them…Will Pam Bondi be the nation’s first Attorney General who wears fake eyelashes.  I’m pretty sure that Bill Barr never wore them….If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Surge in Gays Buying Guns So Trump Can’t Put Them in Concentration Camps

Good grief! Someone should tell them that the Village People will be performing at the inauguration. And we even let them have a gay president for eight years.

Who Cares If Michelle Obama Is at Trump’s Inauguration?

source: Townhall

Michelle has likely not been proud of this country since her husband left office because she hates Donald Trump and who in the world could be proud of anything Joe Biden is associated with?

Trump’s Right About Seth Meyers and Late-Night “Comedy” Shows

source: WND

Meyers could easily put his show on MSNBC and no one would be able to tell much difference between his show and Lawrence O'Donnell's. I wouldn't call Meyers "untalented," but most of these late-night hosts strive to be "relevant" in their anti-Republican messaging. Sadly for them, it didn't keep Trump from winning again.

Time for Hollywood Lefties with Trump Derangement Syndrome to Make Good on Vow to Leave the Country

source: Washington Times

Donald Trump will be sworn back into office in days, so presumably, Cher, Streisand, and all of the other Hollywood lefties who vowed to flee the country have by now printed their boarding passes.

These Hearings Are More Retribution Than Confirmation

source: Conservative View from NH

The Democrats have no intention of rubber-stamping Trump’s selections. They will use their time to berate the character and qualifications and remind people of what they had to do in Trump’s first term to keep him under control. They understand their job to confirm, but they will get some retribution.

LA Fires Become Breeding Ground for Climate-Change Propaganda

The left’s willingness to ignore the empty, rainbow-colored fire hydrants and California’s incompetent Democrats means we need to circle back to the facts

California Needs to Back Away from Radical Environmentalism to Get Aid

source: FrontPage

California’s Democrat majority refused to conduct basic forestry management and maintain water supplies because of their radical environmental ideology. Its identity politics led to incompetence at every level of city management. And its monopolistic energy utilities and tolerance for homeless encampments may have started the fires.

Hegseth Grilled by Feminist Fantasists

source: Ann Coulter

Defense secretary nominee Pete Hegseth’s grilling by the Senate Armed Services Committee about his opposition to women in combat would have to come the very week that Los Angeles’ all-female leadership team was performing so masterfully at subduing wildfires. The way things are going, the fires should be out by Memorial Day.

Kamala Goes Full Cat Lady in Last-Minute Snub of Usha Vance

source: Daily Caller

Americans suffered through four years of Democrats bloviating about a peaceful transfer of power and how Republicans devastated our country’s political norms. Still, now it seems perfectly acceptable for a bruised ego to be the only reason for the current vice president to break those traditions.

TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! Dept. of No Surprises:  Conservatives praised Pete Hegseth’s four-hour performance in his confirmation hearing yesterday, according to Fox News.  Trump aggregated a collection of 25 butt-kissing quotes on his website from GOP luminaries including CNN’s house Republican Scott Jennings who wrote on X, “He kicked their asses today.” My take: Hegseth mostly held his own from the tough questions and his experience as a TV news anchor served him well under the bright lights.  But it still doesn’t qualify him for the position…Toothless: The opinion pages of Iowa’s The Des Moines Register, the state’s largest and most influential newspaper, had nothing to say about Sen. Joni Ernst’s (R-Iowa) backing of Pete Hegseth as Secretary of Defense…The popular 70s disco band, The Village People, is slated to perform at Trump’s inauguration.  I guess this means we’ll have to watch Trump bust a few moves. (Breitbart)…Billy Bush, host of the entertainment news TV program “Extra” and former Trump confidant, told Tucker Carlson that ABC News created a 75-person unit devoted to derailing Trump’s 2016 run for president (The Gateway Pundit)… Seth Meyers, watch yer’ back.  In a recent Truth Social post, Trump admitted he got “stuck” watching NBC’s late night host.  He called Meyers a “moron” and his Comcast bosses “scum.” Not very presidential.. .App of the Week: Watch Duty, which is a free wildfire mapping tool that also sends real time alerts to users….If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Dems’ Behavior with Pete Hegseth Was Childish, Disgusting and Pathetic

source: Outkick

By Zach Dean: I knew the Dems were nuts. I knew they were so far gone, and so far left, and so batshit insane that most of their own party stopped recognizing them years ago. But I didn't realize it was this bad. I didn't realize they were this childish, and this pathetic, and this, frankly, dumb (looking at you, Liz Warren!).

Dems Beclown Themselves at Hegseth Hearing

Armed Services Committing ranking member Sen. Jack Reed may have scraped the bottom in asking what a ‘JAGoff’ is.

Pete Hegseth Brings His “A” Game and Gets the Job Done

source: RedState

He was able to successfully filibuster during some particularly nasty personal attacks and not look flustered. Hegseth may very well have been one of the two or three smartest guys in the room. He was not some weary, gray little man looking for that final big job before landing the seven or eight-figure corporate board sinecure

Hegseth Hearings Show Dems Still Don’t Have a Plan

source: FrontPage

The hearings were disastrous... for Democrats. The larger takeaway is that the Dems still haven’t recovered from the election and don’t have a plan. The things they care about, like women in combat, are of very little interest to most Americans.

Dems Expose Their Spiteful Hypocrisy in Hegseth Grilling

source: American Spectator

Hegseth was not just highly articulate and well-informed on military matters; he exuded sincerity and decency. He comes off like something out of another era — a good, old-fashioned, corny, foursquare patriot of the kind that might have been played in an old movie by Jimmy Stewart or Gary Cooper.

The Golden Age of Trump Is Coming

source: American Thinker

In an era where the very fabric of American identity seems under siege, the promise of a Trump-led Golden Age isn't just a political slogan; it's a clarion call for a return to the principles that once made this nation the envy of the world.
