Greetings. Trump had a busy weekend unleashing an eclectic batch of tweets on Truth Social aimed at a broad range of targets.  First, he attacked two rock icons with a barrage of juvenile insults that read like they came from the pen of an angry14-year-old boy.  After Bruce Springsteen criticized Trump at a concert in Manchester, England, the rock-critic-in-chief wrote on Truth Social, “I see that Highly Overrated Bruce Springsteen goes to a Foreign Country to speak badly about the President of the United States. Never liked him, never liked his music, or his Radical Left Politics and, importantly, he’s not a talented guy — Just a pushy, obnoxious JERK...This dried out 'prune' of a rocker (his skin is all atrophied!) ought to KEEP HIS MOUTH SHUT until he gets back into the Country.” He added ominously at the end of the tweet, “Then we’ll all see how it goes for him!” On Friday, he slammed Taylor Swift, writing, “Has anyone noticed that, since I said “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,” she’s no longer “HOT?” Way to keep it classy Donny.  Also, late last week on Truth Social, Trump posted this link to a press release announcing that the right-wing TV news outlet One America News Network, home to the disgraced Matt Gaetz, will now be available to Spectrum TV customers. Not a good look for the president of the United States to be promoting a highly partisan news channel (and that’s putting it mildly).  Finally, last night Trump sounded a rare note of empathy writing on his social platform that he and Melania wished Joe Biden a “fast and successful recovery” from his recently announced diagnosis of an aggressive form of prostate cancer. I’m publishing today on a bus heading to the DC area.  Wifi is sketchy, but that’s what you get with a $40 ticket...Quote of the week from a Trump cabinet cast member: “I do not think people should be taking medical advice from me,” said  RFK, Jr., the Health and Human Services Secretary (AKA, the person in charge of the nation’s health system). CBSnews.com has more...Not good for President Trump.  National Review points out that Walmart’s prices will rise because of Trump’s tariffs...The president’s granddaughter Kai Trump turned 18 this week.  She seems intelligent, media savvy and camera-ready.  Just a wild guess here on my part, but she could be the future of the Trump political dynasty. Fox News has more....Mark your calendars for June 7.  CNN will broadcast live the penultimate performance of the acclaimed Broadway play “Good Night, Good Luck,” about the dark shadow of McCarthyism and the impact on CBS News in the 50s.  Lots of parellells to the age of Trump 2.0 (Deadline)...Weekend Watch: I give a big thumbs up to the four-part CNN-produced documentary Twitter: Breaking the Bird.  Not only is it a fascinating character study of the offbeat founders and owners – looking at you Ev Williams, Jack Dorsey, Biz Stone and Elon Musk – but it’s also a riveting business drama.  Best of all, it explains how Twitter executives failed to contend with the rise of disinformation and the age of Trump.
