TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! Foxnews.com is posting some surprising op-eds these days. First,  Georgetown University adjunct journalism prof Richard Fowler wrote that Federal workers layoffs represent a betrayal of working Americans. That’s a strong anti-Trump administration sentiment coming from one of The Donald’s staunchest media allies. Foxnews.com also threw a curveball with a piece from true-blue Dem chatterbox James Carville urging fellow party members to tone down the heated rhetoric when challenging the MAGA-in-Chief. “I think it’s evident to anyone and everyone that Democrats' response needs to be deliberate, determined and dignified—not ‘The Charge of the Light Brigade,’” he opinedThe American Conservative makes the case that Trump shouldn’t  exert his control over Ukraine.  Writer Doug Bandow argues that pushing for Zelensky’s ouster to get a peace deal could backfire… Take this with a grain of salt. Former Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency Michael Flynn told Alex Jones that the Deep State is plotting to assassinate the unhinged InfoWars head honcho, among other Trump loyalists who are on a hit list. Flynn served as Trump’s U.S. national security advisor for all of 22 days in the beginning of 2017. He was forced out after reports surfaced that he lied about talks he had with the Russian ambassador to the U.S…Trump wants to give the Presidential Medal of Freedom award to 1960s NY Yankee second baseman Bobby Richardson who is now 90 (Newsmax).  Trump sounds ancient with this one. Anyone under retirement age remember Richardson?…If  you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Howard

Media Adored “Jesus Christ of Our Era” Elon Musk and His “Glorious” Rockets

source: NewsBusters

Elon Musk may well have fallen harder from the corporate media’s graces than any public figure in recent memory. While today’s journalists jeer  at every SpaceX flub, and deride the tech billionaire as a Nazi, that wasn’t the case as recently as a few years ago.

TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! Most accurate right-wing headline of the day, courtesy of National Review: “Trump’s Reckless War on Canada”…The Donald believes he’s supporting his co-POTUS Elon Musk by purchasing a bright red Tesla, but he’s actually alienating half the market that wants nothing to do with anything Trump endorses or buys. USA Today columnist Rex Huppke said it best yesterday: “As the stock market continues to tank, President Donald Trump – champion of the forgotten men and women of America – is doing what any pro-fossil-fuel, regular-Joe patriot would do in times of economic anxiety: He’s buying an expensive electric car from the richest man in the world.”  Worth noting:  Tesla’s stock price has fallen 45% year-to-date, making it the S&P 500’s worst-performing stock. Also of note: Despite the Tesla stock dive, Musk is still worth north of $300 billion. (Forbes)…Required reading: NY Times resident conservative columnist Bret Stephens’ no-holds-barred column about Trump's insane zigzagging trade tariff war with our most trusted allies. Key point: “Until (Trump), no U.S. president has been so ignorant of the lessons of history. Until him, no U.S. president has been so incompetent in putting his own ideas into practice”…My two cents on the 2024 Reagan biopic, which I watched on a flight back to NY yesterday: a slick, paint-by-the-numbers portrait of the GOP icon. It depicts Reagan as a tough-as-nails foe of the Soviet Union in stark contrast to the current Oval Office occupant.  Still, I’d suggest fast-forwarding through the many lovey-dovey Nancy Reagan scenes. It makes the film easily 20  minutes too long…If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Howard
