TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! The MAGA began exactly a decade ago today when the bloviating billionaire reality-TV star descended the escalator of Trump Towers and declared his presidential  candidacy.  Townhall remembers the day calling it the “golden escalator to the golden years.” (Gag)...The dictatorial bromance is back on: Vladimir Putin called Donald Trump Saturday to wish him happy birthday, according to Truth Social... Blood pressure alert! This American Spectator article really got my blood boiling.  It states unequivocally that the “riots in Los Angeles were more protracted and destructive than the January 6th  riot in DC”...Oops! During Newsmax’s coverage of Trump’s poorly-attended multi-million-dollar  military parade, I noticed that Sec. of State Marco Rubio was incorrectly identified as a senator...Trump shamefully gave only the most perfunctory tick-the-box statement about the shootings of two Democratic lawmakers and their spouses in Minnesota on Saturday. The two murders and ensuing manhunt probably irked him for overshadowing his birthday...Several readers sent me images from the protests that also upstaged Trump’s autocratic military parade in DC for his 79th birthday.  The images are posted here.  Special thanks to contributors Arthur Ahrens, Catherine Chayka, Wayno Guerrini, Sean Myers, Kitty Nicholason, Connie Sax, Joseph Stricker, David Zylber and Emily Zylber.  My favorite sign had these words next to an image of Trump: “Does this ass (arrow pointing at POTUS) make my country look small?”...If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. The Biggest Winner in the Middle East Right Now Is “Strategic Genius” Donald Trump

source: Human Events

Trump has stayed the course of America first, Americans first, and keeping America safe.

The Liberal Media’s Trump Authoritarian Fantasy

source: NewsBusters

It’s ridiculous, of course. Trump has been duly elected in a thorough going democratic election - and twice at that. And as with every other President, Trump’s actions as President are subject to checks and balances supplied by the Constitution, the Congress and the Courts.

Clearing Up the Confusion on Pride Month

source: Conservative View from NH

The Left is confused. They say they want to be all-inclusive, yet they feel a need to put people into a specific box and label them.

The Smithsonian Institution Audit Is Only the Start

source: Daily Signal

The Smithsonian has wholeheartedly enlisted in the leftist imperative to “decolonize the American mind” and to change America’s narrative from one that made citizens proud of this nation’s astonishing achievements to a counternarrative that focuses on where America has fallen short and drums shame into citizens.

TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! Just sayin’: The Democracy First PAC is already fundraising off yesterday’s  smackdown and handcuffing of  Sen. Alex Padillo (D-CA) who attempted to question Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem during a press conference. I got a text message last night...The Heritage Foundation reports that a security guard at the conservative organization’s DC headquarters was attacked with pepper spray.  The alleged assailant was arrested...Must-read of the week: The New Yorker’s  chilling profile of Yarvin Curtis, who is described as “one of America’s most influential illiberal thinkers, an engineer of the intellectual source code for the second Trump administration”...Several times a month, the Wall Street Journal's op-ed section dumps on Trump.  Yesterday, the Rupert Murdoch-owned WSJ gave a Bronx cheer to RFK Jr.’s new vaccine advisors, a group weighted with vax deniers. “They seem to know little about vaccines,” the editorial board noted with amazing restraint....Where are the DOGE cost-cutting hounds when we need them? The Donald’s birthday military parade on Saturday carries an ostentatious  $45 million price tag...Yesterday, I noted the sad irony of the passing of Brian Wilson in the wake of all the unrest in Los Angeles.  My Righting colleague Max Robins reminded me that the genius behind the Beach Boys’ sound wasn’t the only sonic genius who died this week. Sly Stone, another son of the Sunshine State, also passed recently. The brilliant Sly and the Family Stone, made music as diverse, funky and fun as California itself.  Max suggests the documentary Sly Lives, available on Hulu, as a weekend watch...If you’re demonstrating at any of the “No Kings” protests this weekend, raise your high voice and please keep it peaceful. And if you capture any images, please send them to Howard(at)TheRighting.com and I’ll post next week...If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Howard

Israel Blows Up Obama’s Legacy

source: FrontPage

Negotiations don’t stop Islamic terrorism. That’s Obamaesque nonsense. Killing them does.

Trump Drops an All-Time Troll on Iran

source: RedState

Israel lops off Iran's head, and Trump responds by saying he hopes they come back to the negotiating table, but unfortunately, "there are several people in leadership that will not be coming back." This is why Trump is bigger than his movement, and why so many who try to mimic him fail to gain traction. He's just a different breed.

Why Israel Needed to Act Now

source: National Review

If Israelis succeed, they will have not only protected their people, but done a great service to America — and to Western civilization.

Trump Can, and Must, Avoid War with Iran

source: The American Conservative

Israel is trying to drag America into another forever war. Here’s what the president should do now.

Here’s Why There Are So Many Mexican Flags at the LA ICE Riots

source: Daily Signal

There's a theory that Mexicans and Latin Americans have an Indigenous right to California and other Western states annexed during the Mexican-American War. They have a right to take it back, the thinking goes. It’s in part an ethnic solidarity movement that’s often been fused with socialist or Marxist ideology.

Who’s Really Pulling the Strings in LA’s Spontaneous Riots?

source: SteveGruber.com

What the media wants you to believe is a “spontaneous” uprising over ICE raids is, in fact, a meticulously orchestrated blow-up by hyper-funded leftist networks. So let’s not fall for their usual B.S. and pretend it just “happened.”

Left-Wing Activists Suggest Bribing Rioters with Cookies to Stay Peaceful at Protests

source: Washington Free Beacon

The left-wing dark money groups behind nationwide anti-Trump protests scheduled for this Saturday are urging their activists to do whatever they can to maintain peace on the ground, including by giving would-be rioters cookies or declaring, "Hey, there's Beyonce!" to distract them.

Soros-Backed “No Kings” Rallies Threaten America’s Cities with Planned Chaos

source: Fox News

Media complicity and Democrat support enable violent agitators hiding behind 'peaceful' protesters

The Rogue’s New Gallery of Left-Wing Scoundrels

source: American Greatness

The left’s martyr-making machine is in overdrive—recasting criminals, rioters, and radicals as victims, even as the public demands law, order, and sanity.

The Scavenger Mentality

source: WND

By Ben Shapiro: It seeks to build nothing. It seeks to tear down everything. From rioters setting cars aflame to fight the legal authorities on immigration in Los Angeles to students taking over universities in solidarity with the terrorist group Hamas, the scavenger movement is about destruction.

3 Million Americans Have Fled Deep Blue State Hellscapes Since 2020

source: The Lid

According to a look at the data by Issues & Insights, more than three million Americans have packed up and moved away from deep blue “sanctuary” states.

ESPN’s Stephen Smith Isn’t Buying What Alex Padilla Is Selling

source: Outkick

The Dems wanted this to happen. Alex Padilla wanted this to happen. Gavin Newsom's slimy little fingerprints were all over it. Hell, some of the lunatics back in DC even staged some sort of "march" out of anger yesterday. Mayor Pete may have even cried at one point.

Is California on Pace for $8 a Gallon Gas?

source: Unleash Prosperity

Speaking of blue state dysfunction, maybe a better reason for protests in Los Angeles would be the absurdly high prices in the Golden State, thanks to years and decades of green extremism.
