TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! Word of the Day: chaos…Virtually every  right wing outlet I screened this morning ignores the Trump tariff market meltdown  Notable exceptions are two Rupert Murdoch-controlled outlets. The Wall Street Journal has two op-eds today questioning Trump’s tariff assault on the world economy: Canaries in the Trump Tariff Mine and Trump’s Tariffs Are a Major Legal Question. The NY Post’s Isaac Schorr thinks The Donald’s tariffs hold scant promise of ushering in even a glimmer of an American  golden age…Who attended a  “Hands Off” rally two days ago? Saturday, I braved the April showers to join the thousands of anti-MAGA madness minions for the march down Fifth Avenue. Please take a look here at my 20+ photos from the Manhattan protest. Meanwhile, WND published a laughable report suggesting demonstrators were bribed with money and bussed into the dozens of rallies that took place nationwide. For the record, I took a subway to my rally….While Trump continues to harass our friendly northern neighbors with insane tariffs and threats of making a key ally the 51st state, it’s worth remembering Canada’s key role during the 1980 Iranian hostage crisis. Canadian diplomats sheltered six Americans from the embassy for almost three months while dozens of other Americans were taken hostage. Watch 2013’s Oscar-winning Argo. Also, read this stunning account from the National Museum of American Diplomacy for some much needed perspective on our nation’s historic alliance with the land of the maple leaf…If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! A growing number of right wing outlets are sounding the alarm about Donald Trump’s tariffs. With a one-two punch, the Rupert Murdoch-controlled New York Post and Wall Street Journal have led the anti-tariff charge. With uncharacteristic understatement, the NY Post notes the “confusion and uncertainty” The Donald’s trade policies have sowed. Meanwhile, the editorial board of The Wall Street Journal voices concern about the tariffs with a welcome dose of snark.  “President Trump said there would be ‘a little disturbance’ from his tariffs, but how does he define little? The stock market Thursday suffered its worst day since the government pandemic shut down in March 2020,” the editors wrote. “Not to worry, the White House says tariffs will eventually be worth the pain. Feeling better?” The sober-minded National Review called the tariffs “reckless” and warned that American consumers will effectively get hit with the biggest  “peacetime tax increase in U.S. history.” Newmax writer Veronique de Rugy sniffed that “Liberation Day” means taxpayers will be liberated from their cash. And the Washington Examiner examined the tariff’s crazy math and termed it a “spectacular statistical manipulation, or to put it more bluntly, fraud.” Worth noting: as of 10 a.m. ET today, Foxnews.com’s homepage has ignored the 1,000 point Dow nosedive.…Headline of the day, courtesy of the satirical right wing The Babylon Bee: “Dodgers Bankrupted as Trump Places 25% Tariff on Japanese Players”…Weekend watch:  If you’ve got the courage to look, take a peek at the value of your 401K.  It’s called a horror show. Thanks Mr. President!…If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Howard

Trump Will Win the Tariff Standoff

Trump’s trade policies are rooted in historical precedent and strategic calculation. While globalists may panic, the Trump administration remains confident that America is in a stronger position than its trade partners. And history is on our side.

We must make a radical change to salvage America’s wealth, economic security and middle class, preventing a true catastrophe down the road.

Elites Hate Trump’s Tariffs Because They Work

source: Association of Mature American Citizens

It is the failure of D.C. elites that has made Trump’s tariffs necessary. Corporate executives, more loyal to their stock prices than to their employees, sold out American workers to the lowest foreign bidder, hollowing out once-thriving manufacturing towns that symbolized the American Dream.

Tariff Analysis

President Trump is a disruptive force in the world unlike President Biden who was meek and weak. Tariffs? Biden had no clue. Border? Trump solved the migrant intrusion in two months. Will he get good tariff deals? I have no blankin' idea.

Our Founding Fathers would roll over in their graves at the opinion makers and governmental leaders who literally are cheerleaders for the United States to fail, as long as they can smear Donald Trump in the process.

Once one understands the nefarious purpose of the typical NGO, the purpose of the Tesla protest is obvious. Electric cars, environmental control of hydrocarbon energy, the preposterous climate change campaign and its "existential threat" to the nation goes away like the light when you flip the switch.

Prof Explains How Trump Could Run for Third Term

Trump could not run for a third term, but he could be president a third time, according to Cornell law professor Bill Jacobson. The 22nd Amendment is clear that no one can be elected to the office of the president “more than twice.” But there’s nothing in the Constitution that prohibits someone from serving a third term
