In yesterday’s Righting email subject line, I misspelled democracy as demoncracy.  But maybe my subconscious mind was on to something.  Although there’s no such word in the dictionary, I’d define demoncracy as a system of government with a demon in charge. Right any bells? In case you’re wondering, I pronounce it duh-MOHN-cruh-see...PJ Media blasted Tucker Carlson’s blistering interview on his podcast yesterday with Sen. Ted Cruz calling it “astonishingly mean-spirited” with the purpose to “mock and belittle Cruz so the video goes viral”....Dept. of Sticks & Stones: The Wall Street Journal continues to hammer Trump on his tariff policies. In an op-ed, WSJ’s Jeanne Shaheen argues that tariffs weaken the country’s military by delaying delivery of  “U.S.-built weapons, rais(ing) costs and leav(ing) us and our allies less prepared for the next war”...Speaking of the Journal, according to WND, Elon Musk taunted the nation’s premier business news outlet by posting a meme on X trashing the @WSJ handle. Musk wrote that it stands for “We Suck at Journalism.” Have to disagree.  Seems like Mr. Musk may have been floating around in space too long without enough oxygen in his helmet....If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Greetings! An editorial in the Rupert Murdoch-controlled Wall Street Journal suggests that NYC comptroller and mayoral candidate Brad Lander, who yesterday found himself in handcuffs after interloping with ICE agents, was doing it to raise his profile. Lander was at the  city’s main immigration courthouse and attempted to protect a migrant that masked ICE agents were about to arrest. “Is it a mere coincidence that this guy is also running, and trailing, in next week’s Democratic primary for Mayor of New York?” the WSJ editorial asks. “Any bets on which progressive will try to go viral next by getting into a tiff with federal agents?” Other right-wing outlets echoed this POV including Murdoch’s NY Post.  While I applaud Lander’s actions trying to help an immigrant being led away in handcuffs, the points raised by Journal crossed my mind too...Dept. of No Surprises: Washington Post reporter Shira Ovide tried signing up for the new Trump cell phone service.  It did not go well...Sean Hannity, stand-up comic? Apparently so. The Fox News host and Trump whisperer has gigs scheduled with Jimmy Failla, the cab-driver-turned-comic who has a Fox News radio show. Tickets for the Punchline and Patriots concerts, featuring Hannity and Failla  are June 28 (Clearwater, FL) and June 29 (Ft. Lauderdale, FL). The cheapest seats will cost you  $64.  I think I’m busy those nights...After all the terrifying news of the last 10 days, I think we could use a feel-good moment. My suggestion is the new one-minute Just Ask Google video commercial.  Tagline: “Life is full of questions.
