TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! Just sayin’: The Democracy First PAC is already fundraising off yesterday’s  smackdown and handcuffing of  Sen. Alex Padillo (D-CA) who attempted to question Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem during a press conference. I got a text message last night...The Heritage Foundation reports that a security guard at the conservative organization’s DC headquarters was attacked with pepper spray.  The alleged assailant was arrested...Must-read of the week: The New Yorker’s  chilling profile of Yarvin Curtis, who is described as “one of America’s most influential illiberal thinkers, an engineer of the intellectual source code for the second Trump administration”...Several times a month, the Wall Street Journal's op-ed section dumps on Trump.  Yesterday, the Rupert Murdoch-owned WSJ gave a Bronx cheer to RFK Jr.’s new vaccine advisors, a group weighted with vax deniers. “They seem to know little about vaccines,” the editorial board noted with amazing restraint....Where are the DOGE cost-cutting hounds when we need them? The Donald’s birthday military parade on Saturday carries an ostentatious  $45 million price tag...Yesterday, I noted the sad irony of the passing of Brian Wilson in the wake of all the unrest in Los Angeles.  My Righting colleague Max Robins reminded me that the genius behind the Beach Boys’ sound wasn’t the only sonic genius who died this week. Sly Stone, another son of the Sunshine State, also passed recently. The brilliant Sly and the Family Stone, made music as diverse, funky and fun as California itself.  Max suggests the documentary Sly Lives, available on Hulu, as a weekend watch...If you’re demonstrating at any of the “No Kings” protests this weekend, raise your high voice and please keep it peaceful. And if you capture any images, please send them to Howard(at)TheRighting.com and I’ll post next week...If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Howard

Who’s Really Pulling the Strings in LA’s Spontaneous Riots?

source: SteveGruber.com

What the media wants you to believe is a “spontaneous” uprising over ICE raids is, in fact, a meticulously orchestrated blow-up by hyper-funded leftist networks. So let’s not fall for their usual B.S. and pretend it just “happened.”

Left-Wing Activists Suggest Bribing Rioters with Cookies to Stay Peaceful at Protests

source: Washington Free Beacon

The left-wing dark money groups behind nationwide anti-Trump protests scheduled for this Saturday are urging their activists to do whatever they can to maintain peace on the ground, including by giving would-be rioters cookies or declaring, "Hey, there's Beyonce!" to distract them.

The left’s martyr-making machine is in overdrive—recasting criminals, rioters, and radicals as victims, even as the public demands law, order, and sanity.

The Scavenger Mentality

By Ben Shapiro: It seeks to build nothing. It seeks to tear down everything. From rioters setting cars aflame to fight the legal authorities on immigration in Los Angeles to students taking over universities in solidarity with the terrorist group Hamas, the scavenger movement is about destruction.

According to a look at the data by Issues & Insights, more than three million Americans have packed up and moved away from deep blue “sanctuary” states.

ESPN’s Stephen Smith Isn’t Buying What Alex Padilla Is Selling

source: Outkick

The Dems wanted this to happen. Alex Padilla wanted this to happen. Gavin Newsom's slimy little fingerprints were all over it. Hell, some of the lunatics back in DC even staged some sort of "march" out of anger yesterday. Mayor Pete may have even cried at one point.

Is California on Pace for $8 a Gallon Gas?

Speaking of blue state dysfunction, maybe a better reason for protests in Los Angeles would be the absurdly high prices in the Golden State, thanks to years and decades of green extremism.

The LA Riots Were Supposed to Make Newsom President

source: FrontPage

Here’s how it was supposed to work. A Hispanic version of BLM operating out of California, funded by government money, would kickstart a national movement and catapult Newsom into the White House. But the plan isn’t working because the public isn’t invested in the riots.

Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) is in hot water. Like always, he’s the one who’s turned up the heat. Amid the escalating standoff between rioters and federal troops in Los Angeles, Newsom has settled squarely on the side of lawlessness.

Dems Newsom and Bass Have Destroyed America’s Golden State

The fact is that the unrest, car burnings, Apple store lootings and more that have overtaken California in the past week can be placed firmly at the door of California’s leadership. Newsom has been governor of California since 2019 and since he came into office, everything in his state has gotten worse.

Pride! It’s in Your Face!

In days of yore, cohabitation and fornication were considered sins. Hell, you weren’t allowed to chew gum in school. Today? Put on some women’s lingerie, grab your crotch and your “It Can’t Lick Itself” sign, and head to the nearest playground. Tolerance. Pass it on.

Substack Picks Up the Drama After ABC Fires Terry Moran

Terry Moran didn’t waste time after getting dropped by ABC News—he’s now on Substack. After his social media meltdown about Stephen Miller, Moran resurfaced as a “storyteller” and “seeker.” Because when legacy media won’t let you rant uninterrupted, there’s always Substack and a fresh cup of self-importance.

TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! Irony alert: While Los Angeles struggles with social unrest and the aftermath of the deadly January fires, we mourn today the death of Beach Boys resident genius Brian Wilson whose music embodied the utopian ideal of southern California.  His songs helped shape the country’s image of his native land as a magical place filled with abundant sunshine, glorious beaches, girls in bikinis, souped-up cars and tanned, healthy surfers...Gag alert. The NY Post’s fiery conservative columnist Miranda Devine seems to grovel at President Trump’s feet after he appeared as the first guest on her podcast “Pod Force One.” This is what she wrote in the Post about her POTUS  interview. “When you meet Donald Trump, the first thing you notice is his hospitality. He is a bountiful host who always wants to make visitors feel comfortable. He will quite literally offer you the food off his plate.” To that, I would have said, “Thank you, but I’ve already eaten”...Phrase of the week: “They went too far,” wrote Musk about his tweets sandbagging Trump.  If only he wrote that about his DOGE cuts I’d feel better...Annals of Idiocy: Trump’s dig at Joe Biden during his Fort Bragg speech Tuesday backfired spectacularly.  “I’ve known this guy a long time,” Trump sneered.  “He’s not the sharpest bulb.” The HuffPost headline captured the flub perfectly: “Trump Mocked After Suffering Brain Fart While Trying to Insult Biden”...If you’re going to any of the “No Kings” protests planned this weekend, please send me images so I can post the beginning of next week.  Be sure to include your name (if you want) and where the picture was taken or any other info you want to include.  Send  to howard(at)TheRighting.com...If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Why Secret Service Treated Sen. Alex Padilla as a Threat

source: The Gateway Pundit

Screen images from CBS News show  that a heckler, later identified as Sen. Alex Padilla (D-CA) rushed to the front of the room where Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem was speaking. Secret Service and FBI agents treated the aggressive man as a threat and quickly forced him out of the room–even as he yelled out “I am Senator Alex Padilla.”

Arrest California’s Leaders and the Riots Will Stop

source: FrontPage

The ultimate financiers and organizers of the LA riots are California’s leaders. And no meaningful progress can be made in ending the state of lawlessness until they are brought to justice and the entire system is made accountable.
