Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is back in the news but not for a good reason.  Seems like he fell while walking carefully in the basement of the Russell Senate office building.  Breitbart has the video and more details....Naturally: Trump has endorsed Hungary’s authoritarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán for the 2026 parliamentary election. He called Orbán “fantastic,” adding that even though many disagree with his support of the controversial leader, his was the only opinion “that matters.” (Hungarian Conversative)...Of course! The Pentagon has criticized Boots, the new Netflix gay military series, as “woke garbage.” (NY Post)...Here’s a phrase I never heard before today: Peak Trans.  The National Review wonders if we’ve hit something the editors call peak trans because the rates of American youngsters identifying as trans are declining, according to new research...Weekend Watch: Season 4 of Apple's The Morning Show bowed three weeks ago.  I didn't dive in immediately but I waded in with some trepidation that the soapy drama about morning television might have lost some of its bite. The storylines are a bit worn around the edges, but I’m happy to report that after watching three episodes the scheming characters and overlapping plots still deliver compelling entertainment...And for those of you who care, my early morning four-hour fishing expedition Wednesday at the mouth of the Connecticut River (where it meets the Long Island Sound) was a major success.  I caught -- and released -- 20 striped bass, all 25-40 inches.  My best fishing day ever...If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting (and fishing) Howard

Trump’s life is in danger because of drugs being prescribed by the White House physician.  So says HHS cardiologist Dr. Aseem Malhotra in a recent Infowars podcast...Former Senator Roy Danforth (R-MO) has written an opinion piece in the Wall Street Journal urging Republicans to “ditch MAGA and return to basics.”  “Those of us who call ourselves Republicans have a choice to make,” he wrote with co-author Rina Shah. “We can choose to stand for our historic principles, or we can continue on the road to angry populism. By making the first choice, we can restore the center”... Kai Trump, The Donald’s 18-year-old granddaughter, has launched a new video series called “”1 on 1 with Kai.” The first 60-minute episode features her golfing with gramps.  So far, it’s generated almost three million views. My guess is she’s being groomed to become the next generation in a Trump political dynasty... In a pointed opinion piece today, the Washington Examiner drops a giant truth bomb on War Secretary Pete “Hairgel” Hegseth by describing his attempts to muzzle the press as “undermining the First Amendment.” Worth noting: The Washington Examiner did not sign a document pledging not use content cleared first by the Pentagon.
