TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! Gag Alert: Want to contribute to Rudy Giuliani’s defense fund? The disgraced ex-New York City mayor and Trump lapdog published a plea in Big League Politics begging  for money to pay for his legal defense. Here’s what Giuliani had to say: “A Democrat Attorney General is making me stand in a rigged trial for bogus state-level crimes, because she knows that not even the most powerful man on the face of the planet – President Trump – can save me with a federal pardon in state court”...Jonathan Cain, who played keyboards and guitar in the iconic 80s rock band Journey, has released a Charlie Kirk tribute song entitled “No One Else.”  Hollywood in Toto has details and links to the music video.... Book Beat: Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) has a book coming next April attacking elite universities: “Poisoned Ivies: The Inside Account of the Academic and Moral Rot at America’s Elite Universities.”  Stefanik became a darling of the right in December 2023 in the wake of a Congressional hearing in which she attacked three presidents of Ivy League schools on how they addressed antisemitism at their respective institutions. That led to the resignations of the presidents of Harvard and University of Pennsylvania. (Fox News)...Last week, Japan elected ultra-right Sanae Takaichi as the country’s first female prime minister.  She’s been dubbed the Land of the Rising Sun’s Margaret Thatcher, the UK’s famously conservative prime minister, who dominated British politics in the 80s. (Daily Caller)...Department of  Corrections: Apologies for  the wrong link in yesterday’s American Spectator article contemplating  John Fetterman’s White House ambitions. Here’s the fix....If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Howard

The KJP Book Is Worse Than You Could Have Possibly Imagined

source: NewsBusters

Jean-Pierre’s book broke no new ground on the inner workings of the White House. Rather, she offered meandering, repetitive excuses for President Biden and denied his cognitive decline. Overall, she penned 172 pages of texts that were comical, insipid, scatterbrained, sloppy, and vapid.

TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! Two former first daughters weighed in over the weekend about Trump’s destruction of the East Wing of the White House to make room for his gilded ballroom.  Patti Davis, the daughter of Ronald Reagan and his second wife Nancy, had this to say in a NY Times op ed: “The images we’ve now all seen of the East Wing being demolished are heartbreaking. Over the centuries, many presidents have altered the White House, and certainly older buildings need to be updated and repaired. But this is complete destruction.” Bill and Hillary Clinton’s only child, Chelsea, echoed a similar sentiment in a USA Today opinion piece: “Yes, the president has authority over the White House grounds,” she wrote. “But authority is not the same as stewardship. Stewardship requires transparency, consultation and an accounting for history. A disregard for history is  defining trait of President Trump’s second administration.” Worth noting: the editorial board of the Washington Post defended Trump’s plans to build a massive ballroom next to the White House. And naturally, Trump crowed about it in a Truth Social post...Thirty-three-year-old podcaster Allie Beth Stuckey may be the heir apparent to Charlie Kirk.  So says the Wall Street Journal in a long profile of the rising star in conservative media who has an outsize appeal to evangelical women...Bye-bye Beshear? Perhaps Governor Andy Beshear (D-KY) should kiss good-bye any ambitions he has about a 2028 White House run after face-planting big time on HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher.” As the first guest on the Friday night program, Beshear gave anodyne answers to pointed questions about the political landscape. Maher looked visibly annoyed with his bland responses. He certainly didn’t come across as a viable Democratic candidate for president in 2028...If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Howard

Let Commie Mamdani Take NYC

It's sad to see America’s largest city, and one of our most ostentatious cultural icons, deteriorate into irredeemable disrepute and disrepair, but if New Yorkers insist on a communist, they deserve all the consequences.

Scandinavia on the Hudson

source: City Journal

Progressives have long sought to transform the United States into a Scandinavian-style social democracy. New York City offers a plausible demonstration of what that might look like—and it’s not an encouraging picture.

Louvre Heist Encapsulates a Western Culture That Will Not Defend Itself

source: WND

The utterly humiliating inability of French authorities to prevent the theft of the literal crown jewelsis the most poetic possible way to demonstrate a point that has come up in so many of my conversations this week: At best, European political and cultural elites have no interest in protecting and preserving their culture.
