Even worse, Biden planned for the complete pullout to take place during the height of the Taliban offensive in August. This meant that the most substantial change of the war, the removal of critical U.S. support, was made at the height of the Taliban surge.

The United States gave up control of Bagram AFB, which was fully secured just weeks ago and could have been a vital staging area. Then they gave up control of the Kabul airport initially which led to the redeployment of troops in order to retake the area.
