TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! Welcome to 2026. I guess Trump can say goodbye to his Nobel Peace Prize after invading Venezuela. And that FIFA Peace Prize he was awarded with last month has gone from a bad joke to a dark belly laugh....The pundit class across the political spectrum offered strong pro and con opinions regarding the Trump regime’s capture of Venezuelan president Nicholás Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores.  There was a surprising split between the editorial boards of the Washington Post, which supported the regime change operation, and the NY Times, which condemned it.  The conservative Washington Examiner called it “an act of war.” Even Sue Kientz of the Astrology News Service (a  Righting subscriber), reported that astrologers observed a celestial buildup last month and “sensed some critical event to be imminent”...Staffers from the embattled Heritage Foundation are jumping ship for Advancing American Freedom, another right-wing think tank founded by Mike Pence, according to the National Review. The Washington Free Beacon calls the Heritage Foundation mass exodus  a “reorganization of the conservative movement.” Worth noting: The Advancing American Freedom board of directors is all men....Actress Claire Foy (“The Crown”) is no longer a vocal Trump critic, per Hollywood in Toto...If you want a deep understanding of why a free press is essential for democracy, I recommend the documentary Cover-Up. It’s a riveting Netflix film about legendary investigative journo Seymour Hersh, famous for groundbreaking reporting on the Vietnam War My Lai massacre and horrific abuse at the Abu Ghraib prison during the Iraq War...If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Trump Brutally Owns Maduro and the Libs

source: Townhall

By Kurt Schlichter: This was a glorious American victory over a communist dictator, so it naturally elicited the usual whining and crying from Democrats, libertarians, and the rest of the eunuch caucus. Oh no, Donald Trump’s not obeying international law! “International law” is a fantasy; it is whatever America does because we’re bigger and can kick your butt.

The Strategic Necessity of Taking Out Maduro

What looked like another endless war was instead a clean Monroe Doctrine strike—neutralizing Maduro, securing U.S. interests, and leaving without a quagmire.

The American Continent Is Divided Over Trump’s Reclaiming in the Western Hemisphere

source: The Gateway Pundit

The stunning operation by US forces, capturing Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro and taking to the US and keeping him in custody to face trial, is a historical milestone for our continent. But it is also a watershed moment in which the political forces in North, Central, and South America take sides in the great geopolitical struggle ahead of us.

“No Kings” Becomes “Yes Dictators” Over Venezuela

source: FrontPage

“No Kings’, a paid-for viral movement with a name picked out of a hat or a moldy tricorn in an antique shop was never against kings. After all the movement is backed by the Dr. No of the political world, George Soros, through ‘Indivisible.’ And Indivisible has predictably come out against removing Maduro from power in Venezuela.

Real Venezuelans Flood NYC to Counter Paid Leftist Dem Protestors Defending Bloody Dictator Maduro

Within hours of news breaking about Maduro’s capture, protests broke out in NYC with professionally printed signs and flags in support of Venezuela and other third-world countries like Cuba and Palestine. Who paid for all of this? Real Venezuelans are stormed NYC to counteract the white liberal Democrats protesting against Trump’s Maduro capture and strikes

Paid Protestors Show Their Love for Dictators

It didn’t take long. Within hours of Maduro’s capture, social media was inundated with Free Maduro talking points. Which led to paid protests fronted by The People’s Forum, in red cities across the U.S. And no, these protestors showing their love for dictators such as Maduro, weren’t doing this on their own initiative.

Next Step for Venezuela and Iran, Is a U.S. Push for Democracy

By Mike Pompeo: There can be no doubt that Maduro’s authoritarian allies are sleeping a little less peacefully tonight – especially in Tehran, where the Ayatollah’s regime may well be on the verge of collapse (another dictatorship that has been weakened thanks to kinetic and financial pressure from the United States).

Liberal Media Defenders Turn to Leaks, Mean Girl Smears to Attack CBS’s Dokoupil, Weiss

source: NewsBusters

Along with the liberal media meltdowns that resulted from incoming CBS Evening News anchor Tony Dokoupil’s brief commentary about the state of the legacy media, the onslaught continued into the weekend following both the publication of the newscast’s core values and subsequent think pieces and anonymously-sourced invective at Dokoupil and CBS News editor-in-chief Bari Weiss.

TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! A Bari-um enema:  “60 Minutes” correspondent Sharyn Alfonsi, who had her segment on Venezuelan immigrants incarcerated in a notorious El Salvador prison at least temporarily killed, has taken aim at  by CBS News’s editor in chief Bari Weiss. In a memo to colleagues, Alfonsi called Weiss's 11th-hour decision to yank her report  “political.”  In standing up to right-wing forces putting the squeeze on mainstream media, Alfonsi gets my vote as ballsiest journo of the year.  Does Weiss can the “60 Minutes” correspondent for going public? Stay tuned....The joke’s on conservatives.  A new study by the right-wing Media Research Council found that 92% of the humor  on late-night comedy shows were about conservatives...In an early morning Truth Social post,  Trump took aim at the NY Times for no apparent reason with this alarming rant: “Their Radical Left, Unhinged Behavior...must be dealt with and stopped. THEY ARE A TRUE ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE.” Before I read that post, I was going to write that his Truth Social musings had been toned down over the last 36 hours. The right-leaning Free Press suggests that The Donald and his MAGA-minions may be posting their “way to ruin” in a piece  entitled “Why can’t the Trump administration log off?”...Housekeeping notes: TheRighting is taking a holiday break and will resume publication Monday, January 5. Happy holidays to all. And don’t forget to wear your seat belts as we enter 2026.  Year two of Trump 2.0 promises to be another white-knuckle ride. Hope our  democracy doesn’t end up as road kill. Thanks for joining me on the journey!....If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Howard

It’s Time to Banish Bill Clinton Like Prince Andrew from Polite Society

source: NY Post

The man formerly known as Prince Andrew has had a catastrophic year. Due to growing public disgust over his relationship with infamous pedo Jeffrey Epstein, he’s had his given and hereditary titles stripped. Across the pond, we have our own problematic prince — or, rather, problematic former president. And he needs to be banished, too.

The Justice Department has been releasing more from the Epstein files. Instead of the incriminating information about Trump, it was former President Bill Clinton’s long‑standing ties to Jeffrey Epstein that came under scrutiny again.
