Third Straight Month of Double-Digit Audience Gains for Foxnews.com

March 22,  2023, New York, NY – For the third consecutive month, Foxnews.com registered double-digit gains in year-over-year (YOY) traffic, according to TheRighting’s exclusive analysis of mobile and desktop traffic based on Comscore data.  The site attracted more than 89 million unique visitors in February 2023, which was 21% more than February 2022 when it drew nearly 74 million unique visitors.  That represented an increase of 15.5 million unique visitors,  the most of any right wing news website surveyed by TheRighting.

While Foxnews.com posted strong YOY numbers for February, the three mainstream news brands TheRighting regularly reports on faltered.  YOY unique visitors slumped at the Washington Post (-24%), the New York Times brand (-21%) and CNN.com (-8%). 

“One reason for the soft traffic numbers at the mainstream news brands is Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 probably drove more interest in their reporting last year,” said Howard Polskin, President and Chief Curator, TheRighting. “The New York Times in particular experienced a 42% spike in February 2022 traffic.”

The Truth About Truth Social Traffic

Donald Trump’s Truth Social website continued its month-to-month downward trend.  Unique visitors dropped by 284,000 from January 2023 to February 2023.   

Here are the February 2023 unique visitors for the five conservative-friendly social media platforms TheRighting follows:

·      Rumble (6,614,000; -25% vs year ago)

·      Truth Social  (3,299,000; +1% vs year ago)

·      MeWe (849,000; -29% vs year ago)

·      Gettr (331,000; -71% vs year ago)

·      Parler (72,000; -88% vs year ago)

Each month, TheRighting examines Comscore data on dozens of prominent conservative websites that post original content.  TheRighting ranks the top 20 conservative websites on the basis of unique visitors and also provides data on whether unique visitors have increased or decreased year-over-year.
