The Washington Examiner, TheBlaze and the Washington Times All Post

Year-Over-Year Increases in Unique Visitors for 8th  Straight Month

September 24, 2019, New York, NY – Three top conservative news websites continued their winning ways in 2019 by posting their eighth straight month of year-over-year (YOY) increases in unique visitors.  According to the TheRighting’s exclusive analysis of August traffic based on Comscore data, TheBlaze (+129%), the Washington Examiner (+119%) and the Washington Times (+35%) all experienced significant YOY traffic growth last month.

The Washington Examiner was the second-highest-ranked conservative website for August with 11,476,000 unique visitors followed by TheBlaze (8,911,000) and the Washington Times (5,802,000).  They trail the right-leaning Foxnews.com, which drew 93,513,000 unique visitors for August, down 5% from August 2018, its first decrease of 2019.

“The hottest brands in conservative news this year are the Washington Examiner, TheBlaze and the Washington Times,” said Howard Polskin, President and Chief Curator, TheRighting.  “Every month this year without exception, they have drawn more year-over-year unique visitors to their sites.  I expect competition from the right to intensify as we enter the crucial 2020 election year when their challenge will be to keep the audiences they’ve attracted over the past eight months.”

Year-over-year unique visitors to Newsmax dropped in August, giving the conservative-leaning website the distinction of posting losses every month this year.  The Federalist has also yet to generate a YOY traffic increase in 2019.  August traffic to Breitbart sagged 27%.  For 27 of the past 28 months, Breitbart has experienced YOY declines.

Three leading mainstream media brands had noteworthy YOY August traffic increases.  According to Comscore, YOY unique visitors climbed 18% for The Washington Post, 14% for CNN and 5% for The New York Times.
