TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! Gotta love Bruce Springsteen. The Boss penned the protest song Streets of Minneapolis over the weekend and it dropped yesterday. Stark echoes of when Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young released the song Ohio a month after the killing of four Kent State University student protesters at the hands of National Guardsmen in May 1970. (BTW: millions of college students went on strike after the shooting and hundreds of schools closed for the semester demonstrating the power of protest.) Here’s the opening verse of  “Streets of Minneapolis” and Springsteen nails it:  Through the winter's ice and cold, Down Nicolett Avenue, A city aflame fought fire and ice, 'Neath an occupier's boots, King Trump’s private army from the DHS, Guns belted to their coats, Came to Minneapolis to enforce the law, Or so their story goes. Strong lyrics really lift this ode. With predictable snark,  Outkick says “it sounds like a parody of a Springsteen song” ...Emmy-award-winning actor and activist John Leguizamo throws heat on ICE.  “If you follow ICE, unfollow me. Don’t come to my shows, don’t watch my movies,” he wrote on social media last week. The right-leaning Hollywood in Toto wishes Tinseltown studios would cancel the outspoken Leguizamo...Book Beat: A Tucker Carlson biography just hit bookshelves. Hated by All the Right People, by Jason Zehgerle, examines how the smug nationalist became one of the most influential voices on the right.  It’s getting some good press in the NY Times and NPR. Love the tome’s title BTW...More lit news: Josh Shapiro’s memoir, Where We Keep the Light, was released this week. The Pennsylvania Governor’s book received a tepid review from The Washington Post. Lousy title BTW... Thanks to everyone who gave so generously to TheRighting’s semi-annual funding drive. Still time to make a donation (hint, hint)....If you keep reading and donating, I’ll keep Righting. Howard

Minnesota’s defiance of federal immigration law echoes pre–Fort Sumter nullification, forcing Trump to choose between enforcement and letting blue states slide toward open rebellion.

Bruce Springsteen’s Minneapolis Protest Song Is So Bad It’ll Make You Shiver

The Boss delivers a song that sounds like a parody of a Bruce Springsteen song.

Springsteen Releases Anti-ICE Protest Song “Streets of Minneapolis”

source: Breitbart

Springsteen really ramps up the hyperbolic and hateful rhetoric in the song. For instance, he calls ICE “occupiers” and “thugs,” and calls the president “King Trump,” while praising the violent anti-ICE protesters as “citizens standing for justice” who are being gunned down by ICE.

You Can’t Have a Secure Border without Deportations

Abandoning deportations would be a capitulation to Democrat demands when doing so has the potential to do massive damage to the rule of law across the country.

Say It Ain’t So, Ro Khanna

By Kurt Schlichter: The not-crazy lane was backed up, so he decided to make a sudden change left without using his turn signal and hit the gas. He no doubt felt this was the only way to distinguish himself among the other Bolsheviks, so he shed the reasonable persona and went full Ivy League faculty lounge.

TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! “Donald Trump is uniquely unqualified for the office of the presidency.” So opines the right-leaning Dispatch in an editorial blasting the MAGA-in-Chief and his servile cabinet and senior advisors. The editors call him “a man with no sense of integrity or administrative acumen, and one who is lazy, vain, ignorant, and vulnerable to flattery—all of which make him easy to manipulate for figures such as Stephen Miller”... Is Kristi Noem on thin ICE after the Minneapolis fiasco? It's certainly plausible to imagine The  Donald throwing the Sec. of Homeland Security under the same Zamboni where the recently defenestrated Greg Bovino wound up yesterday...Trump is fuming this morning about a subject of super importance: Ex-New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick failed to get  elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame on his first eligible round.  “It is the same mindset that gave pro football the new and unwatchable ‘Sissy’ Kickoff Rule, that made it possible for Bill Belichick to not be elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame,” he wrote on Truth Social this morning. “Both are ridiculous and should be overturned.” ...We interrupt this newsletter for our semi-annual fund-raising appeal. Is Minnesota the First Shots in America’s Next Civil War?

source: Townhall

Right now, in the protests in Minnesota, Democrats are hoping that they can convince enough people that ICE is a monster, Trump is a dictator, and that the people will vote the Democratic Party into power.

Minneapolis, Manufactured Mayhem and the Politics of Noise

source: SteveGruber.com

Minneapolis has become a political stage, where chaos and confrontation are deliberately used to drown out falling crime rates and the real-world results of immigration enforcement. As violent protests escalate, Democrats point fingers at ICE—while ignoring how their own sanctuary policies and rhetoric helped light the fuse.
