TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! Shameful. Right-wing media outlets that I’ve surveyed this morning have been remarkably silent about the IRS’s get-out-of-jail-free card to Trump and his $1.8 billion slush fund to aid his buddies. Only Bari Weiss’s The Free Press called his schemes a “scandal”...The progressive Meidas Touch Network’s editor Ron Filipkowski posted a list on X of the Trump sycophants who may be eligible to receive payments from the “Anti-Weaponization Fund.”   The rogues gallery includes Steve Bannon, Peter Navarro, Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell and Jenna Ellis. ...Nasty. Newsbusters has a list of what the pub’s Alex Christy considers the worst moments from “Late Night with Stephen Colbert.”...Dept. of Sticks &  Stones: PJ Media calls Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, “the AOC of jurisprudence”...Who’s interested in red-white-and-blue-themed merch to celebrate the nation’s 250th birthday? The Federalist has a comprehensive guide to select knick knacks and apparel to commemorate the nation's semiquincentennial in style.  Among items The Federalist spotlights: America-themed moccasins, a patriotic wreath sash, a series of America-themed postage stamps designed by Ralph Lauren, and – my favorite – an America 250 t-shirt from the Nixon foundation....Agree! The American Conservative describes Trump’s war with Iran as “disastrous”... Last night I attended the Syracuse University Newhouse School of Public Communications Mirror Awards event honoring the best articles about the media.  Notably, the winner for best commentary was Pamela Alma Weymouth who wrote in The Nation about her grandmother Katharine Graham’s successful stand against a corrupt president and his administration. She was the legendary owner of The Washington Post. The title says it all: My Grandmother Stood Up to Nixon – Jeff Bezos Should Take Note...If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Howard

Trump’s Victims Fund Is a Scandal. But It May Be Legal

Nonetheless, it’s still a gross embarrassment that the Trump administration should rescind

Trump’s Steadfast Approach to “No Nukes” for Iran Shows His Unwavering Resolve

source: NY Post

The Democratic left’s favorite caricature of Trump describes him as recklessly impulsive, wildly inconsistent and addicted to shooting from the hip. The image is powerful boob bait for the uninformed, but it is demonstrably false when it comes to matters of importance. Exhibit A is Trump’s consistent and decade-long patient policies toward Iran.

No, Trump Did Not Steal Your Joy

Politics has grown so large in our emotional and spiritual imagination that it has robbed us of gratitude.

How Trump Survives His Worst Blunders Through Sheer Repetition

source: Fox News

From Jan. 6 to Iran and beyond, Donald Trump has shown an unmatched ability to survive political damage by repeating his version of events until it becomes part of the national debate

Mamdani’s “Balanced Budget” Is an Accounting Atrocity

source: RedState

While it is certainly true that NYC Mayor Mamdani did not slash services or raise property taxes even higher than they already are, it is ludicrous for him to declare that NYC’s budget is sound and sustainable. Aside from Mamdani’s smoke-and-mirrors budget summary, the harsh reality is that the Big Apple is bankrupt.

Imagine a Better World with More Rich People and Fewer Mamdanis

Zohran Mamdani lectures successful people on wealth creation with all the confidence of a man who has never created any.

Colbert’s Demise, By the Numbers

source: Washington Examiner

Many are buying into a ridiculous narrative that President Donald Trump, after literally thousands of attacks from Colbert for more than a decade, suddenly ordered his show taken off the air. But let’s remove the noise and get to the numbers, because therein lies the reason Colbert will no longer occupy the Ed Sullivan Theater.

Colbert Embodies Hollywood’s Partisan Self-Destruction

source: NY Post

Colbert found his footing by doing what many of his late-night peers would eventually do: Savaging President Donald Trump. It pushed him past longtime NBC rival “The Tonight Show” in the ratings, and cemented his brand as “Resistance Theater.”That was a blessing and a sizable curse. He began ignoring Democrats behaving badly, a pattern that would soon set like cement.

Fewer People Watch “Colbert” After Cancellation

source: FrontPage

Was CBS really supposed to spend tens of millions of dollars a year so liberals in their seventies could watch comedians in their sixties make them feel young by going on political rants? The media obviously thinks so. No one else does.

“Moron” Thomas Massie Joins Marjorie Taylor Greene on the Ash Heap of History

Trump's successful purge proves there is still one party that refuses to coddle its antisemites.

Irrelevant Europe

source: American Thinker

The European Union is a governmental monstrosity — bureaucratically lethargic, ideologically suffocating, foolishly regulatory, unmoored from its stated principles, opposed to public debate, enamored with its empires’ past glories, and increasingly oppressive.

Tragedy in San Diego Must Not Become a Tool for Islamization

A massacre should never become a mandate to silence criticism or accelerate California’s embrace of sectarian politics under the banner of fighting “Islamophobia.”

Dem Power-Grab Attempt Goes South Again

Barack Obama and Kamala Harris told Georgia voters to put a pair of radicals on the Georgia Supreme Court. Voters had other ideas.

The Wonderful, Loving Left

source: Townhall

You see, folks, it’s “loving” to let a mother murder her unborn child. Or to let a child be mutilated for life. Or to keep people enslaved under government welfare with little hope of ever getting out of it. It’s a wonderful thing to let people sleep on the streets, or to turn criminals loose so they can prey on innocent citizens.

Do Not Underestimate the Degree of America’s Moral Decline

source: WND

Today, who can count the number of gay love scenes airing on mainstream TV, cable TV, streaming networks and in movies, let alone the steady stream of gay couples featured in commercials? Does the average viewer even bat an eye?

Chris Nolan’s “The Odyssey” Increasingly Looks Like an Epic Disaster

source: The Federalist

What has elicited more outcry has been Nolan’s brazenly woke casting for the other characters. If one had to guess why exactly Nolan picked these actresses, it seems that being a woman of color had something to do with it.

TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! The ultra-right Victory Girls gave a big thumbs up to the Rededicate 250 prayer event in Washington over the weekend.  The  gathering, tied to the nation’s 250 anniversary, was held on the National Mall and featured an unsettling mix of Christian nationalism and MAGA politics. Among those who addressed the throng: Donald Trump (via video), J.D. Vance, Sec. of State Marco Rubio, and SecDef Pete “Hairgel” Hegseth. “Celebrating and worshiping how we choose isn’t icky White Christian Nationalism,” opines Victory Girls contributor Nina Bookout. “It is our First Amendment in action.” The headline of the iconic progressive publication Mother Jones captured why so many U.S. citizens see the event as a threat to democracy: Trump Begins Framing America’s 250th Anniversary as a Christian Celebration...Dept. of No Surprises:  A NewsBusters study of “Saturday Night Live’s” just concluded season found that 91%  of “Weekend Update jokes targeted the right. The study found that 81% of characters lampooned in the show’s cold opens were Trump 2.0 looney luminaries.  Those most mocked included, The Donald, Kristi Noem, and RFK Jr... Agree! Jesse Wegman’s NY Times op-ed argues that “three decades on the Supreme Court is too long.” (Looking at you Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito)...Another reason to lose sleep: Admiral Brian Christine, Trump administration cast member in charge of hantavirus response, is a penile implant specialist.  Christian, whose title is Assistant Secretary of Health for the DHS, once hosted a YouTube show called “Erection Connection,” reports People.com.  Trump undoubtedly likes him because of his colorful track record of pro-conspiracy remarks, that probably help boost the president's drooping popularity.  I’ll leave it to ChatGBT or Jimmy Kimmel to come up with sophomoric penile implant jokes...If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Make America Florida

source: Townhall

There is a difference between peaceful protest and glorifying organizations like Hezbollah or ISIS that have the blood of innocent people on their hands, including Jews. Florida understands that distinction. Other states pretend not to, and it’s pathetic.
