While I deplore his politics, I must admit the dude knows how to connect to viewers with a broad smile and a devilish twinkle in his eye.…In contrast, Eric Trump’s speech was much darker than Carlson’s, yet polished and well-delivered …The best speech of the convention may have been delivered by The Donald’s 17-year-old granddaughter Kai Trump, daughter of Don Jr.  The RNC could have done with more Kai and less Hulk Hogan, Kid Rock and UFC’s Dana White, who helped turn the evening into a bit of a clown show…Meanwhile, Trump appeared weary, his face sweaty and shiny, as he delivered  the longest nomination acceptance speech in history. The Wall Street Journal praised the first part of his speech when he described getting shot, but characterized the rest of his endless presentation as a “rambling, indulgent stump speech.” The National Review concurs as do I…And finally, RIP Lou Dobbs, my former boss and colleague, who unfortunately took a sharp turn to the hard right this century tarnishing his reputation as a celebrated cable news pioneer…If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. I’m going with the shorter version…The endorsement from hell:  The Kremlin has praised Trump’s selection of JD Vance as his VP, according to CNN… Breitbart reports that the Hollywood trade Variety is “furious at Hollywood for creating ‘monster’ JD Vance.” Variety is referencing the Netflix movie “Hillbilly Elegy” based on Vance’s memoir which bolstered his national profile with a wholesome rendition of his climb out of near-poverty…Vivek Ramaswany told the Daily Caller that he would strongly consider taking JD Vance’s seat in the Senate if Trump is elected president…Trump loves linking to Murdoch-owned media outlets in June, according to TheRighting’s latest research just released today.  He linked most to the NY Post followed closely by Fox News Channel, Foxnews.com and The Wall Street Journal.  He gave dozens of links to far-right outlets like RSBN and OAN, as well as obscure ones like Bitcoin Magazine.  When stories in mainstream media aligned with his negative view of President Biden, he linked to them as well, especially CNN….Conservative media continues to praise the upcoming Hollywood blockbuster “Twisters” for not pushing a climate change message.  The film avoids “Greta Thunberg-style TED Talks," per Hollywood in Toto today… Help wanted: Vanity Fair is looking to hire a media reporter.
