TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! It’s not just the right peddling conspiracy theories. According to The New Republic, a wave of doubt about the election results is appearing in some corners of the left.  “Much of the objection appears to have to do with what Harris supporters perceived as less voter turnout…The next four years may go by very slowly if Harris supporters spend it contesting election results like many right-wingers did after Trump’s loss in 2020.” The UK-based The Telegraph posted an article in a similar vein observing that “left-wing conspiracy theorists claim Elon Musk used satellites to ‘steal’ the U.S. election”…Vile right wing statement  of the week (and it’s only Tuesday) via  RedState: “All it took was the election of Donald Trump for women to stop one of the most coveted and upheld activities of the feminist left...being a slut.” Here’s the article…In the aftermath of Trump’s victory, dozens of TheRighting’s readers dropped their free subscriptions.  I call them news deserters and not in a pejorative way. Many said they were tuning out all news media.  Turns out, MSNBC is also experiencing a news deserters plague. Mediaite notes the liberal news network’s ratings “cratered” late last week.…Not everybody is tuning out.  One reader of TheRighting says he’s staying with me on the frontlines. Steve Stroh wrote last week expressing joy because reading TheRighting’s “well-researched, well-edited, human-curated info in TEXT feels like a superpower these days.” PS: If anyone else wants a letter published please write to me at Howard@therighting.com.  I will consider all submissions….Meanwhile, if you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Expect Less Drama, More Success in Trump 2.0

Most election postmortems highlight the issues that played badly for Vice President Kamala Harris and were advantageous to President-elect Donald Trump: inflation, chaos on the world stage and uncontrolled immigration.

Trump’s Brilliance in Choosing Rubio

It ensures having a Secretary of State who truly understands foreign relations. It is a strong statement of Trump's support of Israel and his commitment to the American-Israeli relationship. It places a man of knowledge and experience into one of the most important Cabinet positions.

The Media Target Trump — Again

The election results are barely in, and President-elect Donald Trump is already being targeted by the erroneously named “mainstream media.” Aka “the liberal media.”

Celebrating American Unity This Thanksgiving

As Americans, we truly have a lot to be thankful for. Despite the recent hardship instigated by insane inflation, rising crime rates, and weak leadership, we are a strong people with a rich history of valuing human rights and our legacy.

The Remarkable Rise of JD Vance

Vance serves as an example of how the American Dream may not be completely lifeless after all. There are a number of lessons that Christians can draw from his story and from the enduring power of the Dream.

Late-Night Rage, Tears and Lectures Over Trump Victory

source: Hollywood in Toto

For late-night comedians, Trump’s victory was akin to 9/11, one of those cultural moments when it’s hard to find anything funny in life. Ironically, late-night hosts walked the country back from the emotional abyss after the actual 9/11, finding the balance between mourning and mirth. That was then.

Why There Was Little Dem Cheating in Battleground States

The common wisdom developing is the massive increase in observers watching this election compared to the 2020 and 2022 elections made the difference.

Cultural Curators Face Reckoning for Mocking Middle America

source: Townhall

Voters didn't just vote for Trump. They voted against the elitist institutions. After two full days, post-election, of watching left-leaning cable news and the once-vaunted national news reports, it is clear they still don't understand not only what just happened but also what is continuing to happen.

Climate Change Fanaticism Was the Big Election Night Loser

source: Daily Caller

It turns out the tens of millions of middle-class Americans who voted for Trump weren’t much interested in the temperature of the planet 50 years from now. They were too busy trying to pay the bills.

TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! Based on what we know about their combustible personalities, how long before the Donald Trump and Elon Musk bromance blows apart? Here’s how I see it in just four words: Two bears, one cave…Foxnews.com names five Democrats who are candidates to lead the wounded party out of the post-election wilderness.  Notably there are no women who made the list that includes Pete Buttigieg, Josh Shapiro and Hakeem Jeffries…Vance 2028?  According to the Wall Street Journal editorial board, Trump nixed roles for Mike Pompeo and Nikki Haley in his new administration because Don Jr. didn’t want competition for JD Vance’s expected White House run for years from now…The Washington Free Beacon has a provocative article touting winners and losers from last week’s election.  One selection, in particular,  stands out to me: Dean Phillips, the only Dem with the cojones to primary Biden a year ago…Two must-reads from legacy media that help explain the presidential results: Maureen Dowd penned  her best New York Times column in months with this humdinger: Democrats and the Case of Mistaken Identity Politics.  The lede says it all: “Some Democrats are finally waking up and realizing that woke is broke.” Meanwhile, The New Republic blames right wing media for powering Trump’s massive victory last week. TNR’s  editor Michael Tomasky explains why in an article that reads like an ad for TheRighting…Last week’s most prescient right wing article: The Federalist’s The Best Thing for America Would Be a Donald Trump Blowout. If Harris had to lose, I would agree with The Federalist’s headline.  The country would be in a much more agitated state if Harris eked out a popular vote win…If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting.  Howard

It highlighted that women’s concerns expand far behind their reproductive organs and skin color—and that the Republican party, from Trump on down, knows this.

The Democrats have nothing to offer but grievance, victimhood and welfare.

It’s Leftism, Stupid

Democrats will come up with all sorts of explanations for Kamala Harris’s defeat just to avoid the obvious one.

The Left Will Regret Their Meltdown as the People Have Spoken

source: Conservative View from NH

It is fun to watch the Left meltdown in such a monumental manner, but it is also sad. The lack of protests and any displays of angst and aggression suggests that most on the Left recognize this was not a close race but a landslide.

The Left’s Woke Agenda Died Last Week

source: Daily Signal

Voters have rejected wokeism—defined here as an unhealthy obsession with viewing all of life as a struggle between oppressors and oppressed, or, as the woke would put it, being “awake” to the misfortunes of the marginalized.

James Carville Should Listen to James Carville

source: Washington Examiner

Worse than getting it wrong, however, is Carville should have seen this coming. For years, the irascible Cajun has stood practically alone among liberal strategists, warning repeatedly that a Democratic Party unwilling to loosen its embrace of off-putting progressive pieties and ultra-left-wing culture is a Democratic Party doomed to electoral failure.
