Heroine of the Week: Jeanine Pirro. The Trump-appointed U.S. Attorney for DC actually contradicted the president on his ridiculous assertions that vandals damaged the Reflecting Pool.  Now we’re all left to wonder what price she’ll pay for telling the truth, especially since he still stubbornly claims vandals caused the damage. He wrote that he “disagrees 100%” with her. Somebody’s going to bed without dinner tonight....Popular progressive podcaster and chatterbox Prof. Scott Galloway claims he was doxed by NYC Mayor Mamdani’s release of a list naming almost a million wealthy city property owners who could be on the hook for the city’s proposed pied-à-terre tax. “"He’s taken a legitimate source of tax revenue, and he’s turning it into a wanted poster," said Galloway, according to Fox News....Another Covid Diary: I also kept a diary from March 2020 through September 5, 2023.  It’s 120 pages and I wrote it so my two grandchildren – born during the pandemic – would have a record of what the world was like in the first chaotic years of their lives.  Worth noting: I call all children born during the pandemic “baby pandas”....If you keep reading, I’ll keep writing.

The Maine Wire reports that Troy Jackson, Maine’s Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate, fathered two children with his second cousin by blood.  The Wire’s article did mention that Jackson’s cousin is his longtime partner and they have been together since high school. Worth noting: The Maine Policy Institute, a conservative think tank, owns The Maine Wire....The American Conservative throws some serious shade on the recently deceased Lindsey Graham.  Contributor Doug Bandow writes that Graham “supported foreign policy catastrophes that harmed America.” The headline on his article asserts that Washington’s celebration of Graham was “unseemly”...The headline writers at the Washington Examiner earned their money this week. Today’s gem: It’s Not Just Biden – Washington Is an Assisted-Living Facility with Nuclear Keys....Macho Alert! The Daily Wire names three Russell Crowe movies every young man should watch: “Gladiator,” “Cinderella Man” and “Master Commander: The Far Side of the World”...Weekend Watch (retro edition): The 2022 #MeToo drama She Said, which I watched for the first time last week, seems especially appropriate for the summer of 2026. It’s based on the reporting of NY Times reporters Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey who exposed the sexual misconduct allegations against powerful movie mogul Harvey Weinstein that ultimately sent him to jail. As the Trump administration intensifies its attacks on the press and hurls baseless charges of “fake news,” “She Said” is a powerful reminder of the dedication of hard-working reporters committed to the truth and the strength of institutions like the Times that stands up to forces that would silence their journalists.
