Greetings!…Nasty! Newsmax celebrates the pre-Christmas layoffs sweeping through NewsNation, a mid-sized competitor on the cable news landscape.  Not only did Newsmax publish a story on its website about NewsNation’s woes, it also sent a press release to media reporters pointing out that NewsNation is the “lowest rated cable news channel.”  News organizations that live in glass houses, shouldn’t throw stones. Bad karma. Worth mentioning: NewsNation’s marquee anchor, Chris Cuomo, was just re-signed…Reviews for memoirs by First Lady-elect Melania Trump and South Dakota Governor and canine killer Kristi Noem landed on Literary Hub's list of the most scathing book reviews of 2024.  Melania’s book was described as “one of the flattest, most abstract, and least revealing accounts of a life that I’ve probably ever read.” And Kristi Noem’s tome, where she revealed she shot her pooch, was  deemed  “a hodgepodge of worn chestnuts and conservative maxims, like a fistful of old coins and buttons found between the stained cushions in a MAGA lounge.” Literary Hub  also cited lousy memoirs  by Tom Selleck, Lionel Shriver and RuPaul, among others…The Gateway Pundit is in toxic fashion shock because Michelle Obama appeared on “The Jennifer Hudson Show” in a pair of “slouchy thigh-high boots.” Footwear News has the images (natch)…The NY Post’s Cindy Adam hints that Rahm Emanuel, Obama former chief of staff and currently ambassador to Japan, is considering a 2028 White House run….Blaze Media profiles Loor.tv, an upstart streaming service that targets the Joe Rogan bro demo…If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Greetings!  Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson made her Broadway debut Sunday night in a feminist interpretation of William Shakespeare’s classic “Romeo and Juliet.” Brown Jackson appeared in two scenes in what’s being described in several outlets as an “LGBTQ musical.” It was a one-night-only performance for the liberal Supreme Court Justice, who fulfilled “a lifelong dream” to appear on Broadway. (RedState)…Last year 42% of U.S. households had at least one firearm, according to data collected by Ammo.com.  It was as high as 47% in 1990.  Montana leads all states with 64% of households owning some sort of gun.  Only 8% of Hawaii and New Jersey households are strapped.  The state of Wisconsin, where a 15-year-old teenage girl, killed herself and two others in a school shooting yesterday, has a household firearms ownership of 44%....Ponder this while you’re sipping your Christmas eggnog: there have been 323 school shootings this year, almost as many as  2023. (K-12 School Shooting Database)…Here’s an honor no one wants to win.  The Antisemite of the Year award goes to right wing commentator Candace Owens from the group StopAntisemitism. Comments Owens made about Jews in Hollywood and  the Holocaust were just some of the reasons why she received the “honor”….Does Jill Biden hate Kamala Harris? Blaze Media seems to think so and cites the First Lady’s Christmas “joy” speech as proof…In case anyone is wondering, I have not made the pilgrimage to Mar-a-Lago to kiss the ring and bend the knee…If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting.
