TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! The NY Post’s Kirsten Fleming has issued a very public dare to Conde Nast’s legendary editor Anna Wintour.  In her latest column, Fleming challenges the grande dame of magazine publishing and fashion to put Usha Vance on the cover of Vogue.  “I’m betting it won’t happen,” predicted Fleming.  “Vogue under the stewardship of Dem fundraiser Wintour isn’t about American fashion or excellence. It’s still about naked partisanship. The magazine, dubbed the ‘fashion bible,’ is a de-facto arm of the DNC”…Speaking of fashion, the world’s ugliest sneakers are now for sale, and they ain’t cheap.  President Trump’s official low-top victory sneakers sell for $499.  They’re gold with gold shoelaces and a red, white and blue motif at the heel.  Along the white mid-sole of the shoe are the words “Trump Won 45-47.”  Only 1,000 pairs are available.  I’m surprised he’s not hawking running shoes to chase down illegal immigrants… Cold shoulder? Arch-conservative and scandal-scarred Mel Gibson directed the new theatrical movie “Flight Risk,” which opens tomorrow.  Yet, no early reviews have been posted and Hollywood in Toto thinks it’s because the studio is shielding it from progressive critics who have been “sharpening their knives.” The trailer looks good IMO and features a bald Mark Walberg (!!!) playing against type…I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about what’s going to happen to right wing media in 2025.  Here are 10 of the most pressing questions I have about what’s going to unfold in the next 12 months….If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Are the Obamas Getting a Divorce?

source: PJ Media

After years of the media romanticizing Barack Obama’s life story and gushing over his supposedly fairytale romance with Michelle, speculation is swirling that their seemingly perfect marriage might not be as idyllic as it seems. Over the past few weeks, rumors about Barack and Michelle potentially heading for divorce have gone from social media speculation to full-fledged rumors.

10 Questions About Right Wing Media in 2025

source: A Righting Original

On the surface, all seems well in MAGA media world today. But there are questions large and small that could reshape the conservative landscape for years to come. Some questions may seem crazy, but in a world where Matt Gaetz was nominated as the country’s Attorney General, anything is possible.

A Bad Year for the Wall Street Journal

Who was Monday worse for? MSNBC, The Wall Street Journal or people on the streets of D.C. selling MLK merch? I say the Journal. The Journal is supposed to be a Republican newspaper.

TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! Worth noting: Not every right wing media outlet is in lockstep with Donald Trump's pardon of the Jan. 6 insurrectionists.  Both the Wall Street Journal and National Review came out against The Donald’s get out of jail free blanket pass to the Capitol rioters. Trump’s unconscionable actions put some MAGA acolytes resorting to pretzel logic. Newbie Today Show anchor Craig Melvin showed real journo chops grilling of Sec. of State designate Marco Rubio. During a tense segment yesterday morning where Rubio wanted to discuss foreign policy, Melvin adroitly pivoted to Rubio’s 2021 remarks when he called January 6 “one of the saddest days in American history.” When Rubio bobbed and weaved, Melvin persisted probing the former Florida Senator on what  message the pardons sent to the rest of the world.  A peeved Rubio never answered.  Here’s the transcript… Meanwhile on the POTUS pardon front, Trump took to Truth Social to trumpet the release of convicted drug dealer and crypto pioneer Ross William Ulbricht who was serving a life sentence for a slew of offenses including conspiring to create fake ID’s and money laundering. Trump's rationale was bizarre.  “I just called the mother of Ross William Ulbricht to let her know that in honor of her and the Libertarian Movement, which supported me so strongly, it was my pleasure to have just signed a full and unconditional pardon of her son, Ross,” he wrote. “The scum that worked to convict him were some of the same lunatics who were involved in the modern day weaponization of government against me”…Cannabis reform advocate and ex-heavyweight boxing champ Mike Tyson takes a swing at weed regulations.  He’s co-written a Fox News op-ed calling for Trump to give the 10-count to “awful marijuana laws”…If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Good News for America as DEI Retreats

source: Newsmax

In 2020, DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) grew to the status of a household catchphrase. By 2024, DEI was on life support. In 2025, we’re finally pulling the plug. Companies went woke, some went broke, and now DEI is going up in smoke.

The End of the Old ESG

source: Commonplace

ESG’s popularity has dramatically receded as choppy macroeconomic factors have pushed investors to reemphasize conventional financial metrics, while many of the institutional investors at the forefront of the ESG movement have become the target of heated attacks from conservatives who view ESG as a Trojan horse for advancing liberal policy objectives.

The End of ESG

By John Stossel: America needs high-performance computer chips. Intel was once the leading manufacturer of such chips. But now, even as Congress gives Intel billions in taxpayer handouts, the company is cutting thousands of jobs. Why? While Intel's competitors innovated, Intel obsessed about "sustainability."

Trump Turns the Tide in the War on History

source: Daily Signal

The Left understood that stripping the United States of the symbols of its past was in important step in making the country turn to noxious ideas like critical race theory and diversity, equity, and inclusion. The message was always, “accept these programs or you are racist, just like your awful ancestors.”

The Trump-Vance Women Are Dressed for a New Golden Age

It’s been vogue for a while to eschew traditional beauty standards. Things that normies think are weird — like Ella Emhoff’s attempt to turn armpit hair into a fashion accessory — are celebrated by the editors at fashion magazines because they offend people of small minds who voted for Trump.

A Bishop Insults Trump

The bishop had no right to abuse her position in the church and hijack a prayer service with a political message. By mentioning only working-class illegal migrants, she is attempting to imply that this is about class and that Trump is persecuting the less fortunate.
