TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! It’s merely 1,385 days until the next presidential election, according to TheRighting’s election ticker which is posted in the newsletter and on the top right side of our website…Trump 2.0 Day One was about as bad I expected.  As for the outrageous but predictable J6 pardons, the NY Times said it best, “(T)he mass pardon sends a message to the country and the world that violating the law in support of Mr. Trump and his movement will be rewarded…,” the Times editorial team wrote.  “It loudly proclaims, from the nation’s highest office, that the rioters did nothing wrong, that violence is a perfectly legitimate form of political expression and that no price need be paid by those who seek to disrupt a sacred constitutional transfer of power”.…Trump gave a joyless, low-energy inauguration speech. I don’t think he smiled once.  He’s really perfected his scowl…Hat’s off to Melania for wearing the weirdest outfit of the inauguration. What statement was she trying to make with her buttoned-up dark outfit and hat with such an extra-wide brim that it shrouded her eyes?  Her clothes and rigid body language suggested that she wanted distance from the proceeding and perhaps even Trump.  But the National Review complimented Melania’s fashion choices.  The headline said it all: Melania’s Revenge Hat…And the award for the most inappropriately dressed person at the inauguration goes to Jeff Bezos’ fiancé Lauren Sánchez who sported a revealing lingerie-like top.  However, the Washington Free Beacon praised Ms. Sanchez for her fashion choice at the inauguration ceremony.  She was described as “exuding female empowerment” and an “an icon of American fashion and the physical embodiment of national restoration under President Donald Trump.”  Sheesh. Gonna be a long four years…If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Howard

A Whole Lotta MAGA Goin’ On

Trump's speech was focused and serious. He stuck to the script, reciting all of the wrongs of the Biden years that he was going to put right. Many people were commenting on the fact that Joe Biden had to sit there and take it. Honestly, Biden looked like he dozed off more than once.

The Absurd Outrage Directed at Trump

Trump gave a tough, substantive speech that ushers in a new age without worry about criticizing the people in the audience who brought us this disaster.

J6 Nightmare Over for 1,500 Americans as Trump Issues Pardons, Commutations

More than 1,500 Americans are celebrating the end of a prosecutorial nightmare now that President Donald Trump has pardoned or commuted the sentences of those charged with offenses related to the protest at the Capitol on January 6, 2021.

Will Trump Be a Titan Worthy of McKinley?

source: American Thinker

McKinley’s presidency hinged on his campaign theme during the 1896 election. He promised voters a “full dinner pail.” He delivered. He erected tariffs that protected domestic markets. He signed into law the gold standard, to the distress of William Jennings Bryan, who was a “free silver” champ. Gold proved a boon to finance and the economy.

Trump Sticks Knife into Architects of America’s Decline

His inaugural address felt more like a State of the Union address than an acceptance speech. It was a warning shot at the political elite who stole their power from the American people that their corrupt mission had ended.

Kamala: Fare Thee Well, VP Sourpuss

source: Victory Girls

Kamala Harris eked out a smile for the camera, only after realizing the camera was on her and husband, Doug Emhoff as J.D. and Usha Vance met up with them for afternoon tea. For a moment, it looks as though Dougie may have farted by the sour look on Kamala Harris’ face.

The Washington Post and LA Times Are Filled with Liberal Activists, Not Journalists

source: NewsBusters

If the Washington Post and Los Angeles Times were not newspapers but rather manufacturers of some non-media related product, the Federal Trade Commission would be within its rights to swoop down on the two "news" papers with charges of perpetrating a fraud on consumers of their product.

TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings fellow travelers.  What awaits us on the dark path we’re about to enter beginning at noon ET today?...President Reagan’s first inauguration was the coldest on record (7 degrees).  JFK’s inauguration exactly 64 years ago was a relatively balmy 22 degrees, although eight inches of fresh snow blanketed Washington that morning.  Kennedy – gotta love him – gave his 15-minute inauguration speech without a topcoat.  Check it out. It’s worth remembering that in his speech, Kennedy reminded Americans that “civility is not a sign of weakness.” Our incoming president and his administration should heed those words. Here’s the transcript…Outspoken right wing actor James Woods suggested in tweet last night that there may be an assassination attempt on Trump today.  “Is anybody besides me gravely concerned for President Trump’s and the First Lady’s safety during the inaugural walk,” he wrote.  “The insane left has tried everything to thwart the will of the people, and they will stop at nothing”…Book of the day: Philip Roth’s The Plot Against America, which followed the impact on one family after America elects a charismatic, isolationist president. It was also a great HBO miniseries. Songs of the day: CSN&Y’s Déjà Vu and Tom Petty’s It’s Good to Be King.  Movie of the day: Groundhog Day…Question of the day: When Trump is sworn in as the 47th president today, will his hand be on his God Bless the USA Bibles that retail for prices ranging from $59.99 to $1,000? It may represent an irresistible marketing opportunity for him...If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Howard

Trump’s Second Term Sparks Hope for a Golden Age in the U.S.

His smashing victory is inspiring conservative parties in Canada, Europe and elsewhere to get off the mat and fight to reverse their countries’ progressive slide into oblivion. Most striking is a widespread hope that his return to the Oval Office will usher in a more peaceful and stable period.

It’s Morning Again in America

source: PJ Media

We are today again on the precipice of Morning in America. There's an end in sight for Joe Biden's inflation, muddled foreign policy, DEI madness, and censorship regime. Under Trump, we can expect a flourishing economy, energy independence, a secure border, and schools that teach the three Rs rather than 124 genders.

Trump’s Unique Opportunity This Inauguration Day

source: Washington Examiner

Trump’s astonishing political comeback means he enters office with the energy and excitement of a first-term president but the experience and knowledge of a second-term president. He is surrounding himself with people who are committed to his vision and who also know how Washington works. This gives them a chance to make that vision reality.
