TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! Paging Dr. Trump: The country’s Fabulist-in-Chief tried unsuccessfully to spin his way out of his unforced error of posting an AI-generated image of himself Sunday night as a Christ-like figure hovering over a sick man.  “I thought it was me as a doctor, and had to do with Red Cross, as a Red Cross worker there, which we support,” Trump said, according to The Hill and other outlets. He scoffed at claims that the image was meant to depict him as Jesus. “Only the ‘fake news’ could come up with that one,” he said. Memo to “Dr.” Trump: The far-right Daily Wire described Trump as “dressed like Jesus” as TheRighting noted yesterday...Dept. of Mild Headlines: This is the anodyne headline of the NY Times article describing Trump’s recent flurry of unhinged Truth Social posts and terrifying outbursts: “Trump’s Erratic Behavior and Extreme Comments Revive Mental Health Debate.”  I have a more accurate headline: “Nation and World Panic as Trump Descends into Madness”...Book Critic-in-Chief: In an apparent moment of lucidity, Trump has endorsed Congresswoman Elise Stefanik’s new book Poisoned Ivies: The Inside Story of the Academic and Moral Rot at America’s Elite Universities. In his blurb-ready post to Truth Social, Trump wrote, “There is nobody more qualified to speak on this important subject than Elise, who totally exposed the Crooked Former Presidents of Harvard, UPenn, and MIT, in a Congressional Hearing that was seen and heard around the World.” The book lands at retailers today... Incoming Hungarian prime minister Peter Maygar, who toppled incumbent autocrat Viktor Orbán, was accused of domestic violence by both his ex-wife and ex-girlfriend. (Hungarian Conservative)...Visits to all right-wing news websites cratered in March, except one, according to new research released this morning by TheRighting. The Free Press, co-founded by mainstream media piñata Bari Weiss who now helms CBS News, posted a year-over-year increase in visits...If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Howard

You’re only finding out about the scandal now because he’s in the way of other Democrats — and easy to wound.

Perhaps this will continue as an entertaining sideshow on the judicial stage.

Eric Swalwell Rape Allegations Are Only the Tip of This Democrat-Media Scandal

source: NY Post

Rep. Eric Swalwell finally quit Congress on Monday amid accusations of rape and sexual abuses, but the larger scandal is how long he got away with it. Fellow Democrats kept mum for years

It’s Hard Not to Laugh at the Downfall of Eric Swalwell

source: Daily Caller

Everyone hates it when bad things happen to good people. In the case of the demise of Eric Swalwell, we’re lucky that isn’t the case. Swalwell is one of the dumbest and worst people to ever serve in the federal government, and I include all bureaucrats. The smug Californian was done in by his arrogance, and that’s worth laughing at.

Wingman Gallego Caught in Swalwell Storm

source: Washington Free Beacon

Sen. Ruben Gallego (D., Ariz.) is taking heat after a sexual misconduct scandal forced his good friend, California Democrat Eric Swalwell, to suspend his campaign for governor and resign from Congress. Gallego, who chaired Swalwell's short-lived presidential campaign in 2020 and served alongside him in Congress for years, endorsed the congressman's bid for governor on March 26.

Pope Leo Can’t Have It Both Ways

source: Washington Examiner

The two people in the world who should feel most obliged to be thoughtful and restrained in their public statements are the president of the United States and the pope. But neither of the current incumbents seems willing or able to rise above his immediate political impulses as is necessary to protect the institution he leads.

Trump vs Pope Leo: It’s Not Even Close

source: PJ Media

Pope Leo, your criticism is misplaced. Take a step back, look at the world around you, and ask yourself: What are your goals? Are you merely looking to help usher through a managed decline of the West and the Christendom that built it? Or are you looking to step up to the plate and defend everything you know that is good and holy?

War in Iran Fails to Drive Traffic to Right-Wing News Websites in March

source: A Righting Research Exclusive

“It’s surprising that more eyeballs weren’t driven to right-wing news websites after the February 28 start of the war with Iran,” said Howard Polskin, President, TheRighting. “This could represent a wave of consumer news avoidance signifying that audiences are fatigued from the constant noise and drama of the Trump administration.”

TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! Democracy 1, Autocracy 0. Hungarians voted their autocratic prime minister and Trump pal Viktor Orbán out of office. (BBC)...The Boss Slimes The Boss: Last night, Trump attacked Bruce “The Boss”  Springsteen by posting an obviously AI-generated image of the rock superstar with this caption: “Bruce Springsteen prior to plastic surgery???” The highly unflattering doctored image shows a withered Springsteen with bad teeth, damaged skin and a severely thinning hair line. The photo headline reads: “Whatever happened to Bruce Springsteen?” Here's the better question: Is this how our president spends his time while a war with Iran spins out of control and gas prices continue to rise? The answer, of course, is yes, as my next two items prove...He also posted an uncaptioned AI-generated image of himself draped in robes healing a sick man lying in a bed. The far-right Daily Wire described him as “dressed like Jesus” and called the post a “blasphemy.” The sick man bears an uncanny resemblance to Jeffrey Epstein...Finally, Trump took the time over the weekend to repost an item from Truth Social claiming that in 2008 he quietly bought the Los Angeles home of legendary Johnny Carson sidekick Ed McMahon who was in danger of losing his house to foreclosure. Yesterday, Newsweek refuted the claim, writing, “The story shared by Trump is untrue, with no evidence that Trump bought McMahon’s property or leased it back to him free of charge.”....Tucker Carlson, book publisher.
