TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! Wednesday Watch: Trump addresses the nation tonight at 9 ET about his excursion in Iran...Somehow, the vibe around Kristi Noem got weirder. Noem, as you may recall, is the former wacko head of the Dept. of Homeland Security who, among her many sins, favored wearing tight clothes while peacocking in front of helpless, incarcerated young men of color. It always struck me as sadistic posturing. Her husband was outed yesterday by The Daily Mail as a cross dresser fond of posting images of himself as a “busty bimbo.” Noem’s marriage had already hit the rocks. Her alleged romantic partner is Trump advisor and DHS subordinate Corey Lewandowski. Worth noting: I did not see any mentions in the right-wing press about Noem’s husband this morning... Book news: J.D. Vance has a new book coming out June 16.  Communion is described as a spiritual book about how Vance regained his faith. Worth noting: Vance’s mega-best-seller, Hillbilly Elegy was published a  decade ago on June 2016 and launched his national profile. As much as I don’t like Vance as Veep, I’m a big fan of the book (AP)... Gag alert: Trump has released a 100-second video of an artist’s rendering of his proposed Trump Presidential Library, situated in Miami.  The video shows many scenes of the proposed library including a 747 airplane in the lobby, a gift to Trump from the government of Qatar. Worth noting: I did not see a single image of a book in the video of the library. Also worth noting: The U.S. flag depicted at the 28-second mark in the video has 56 stars. The United States flag that I salute has 50 stars, one for each state in the union...If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Howard

Sorry, the War Doesn’t Mean “Renewables” Will Replace Oil

As war fuels new climate urgency, the numbers show renewables still cannot replace the energy that powers modern civilization.

Fund the Iran War by Ending Welfare Fraud

When Congress returns from Easter recess, it will have one item on its agenda: Paying for the war in Iran. Budget analysts say the president will need $200 billion to finish the job

Mamdani Walks into a Passover Seder with Don Lemon and Drag Queen Rabbi

source: Daily Signal

Zohran Mamdani is clearly aiming to convince the world that he isn’t antisemitic in the most lefty-coded theater-kid way possible. It didn’t quite go as he planned as he got heckled.

“No Kings” Protestors Are Dumber Than You Think

source: PJ Media

“No Kings” protests are backed by a sprawling network of roughly 500 organizations pulling in an estimated $3 billion in annual revenue. That’s not a spontaneous uprising. That’s an industry. And buried inside that network are openly socialist and communist groups calling for “revolution.” So much for your neighbor just deciding to grab a sign and head downtown.

Karen Attiah, Radical Columnist Fired for Endangering Colleagues, to Receive “Distinguished Service Award” from Journalism Society

source: Washington Free Beacon

Karen Attiah lost her job at the Washington Post after "endangering" colleagues with her inflammatory posts about the assassination of Charlie Kirk and has repeatedly denounced mainstream journalism as a racist industry. This summer, Attiah will receive the Distinguished Service Award from the Washington, D.C., chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists

TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! The joke’s on The Free Press: The news outlet co-founded by the embattled CBS News boss Bari Weiss and now owned by her corporate masters, is launching  a series of comedy events at NYC’s Comedy Cellar Sunday afternoon, April 19.  The event will be emceed by Judy Gold, who is described as a Free Press favorite. I have no idea  if the five  comics on the lineup share Weiss’s neo-con politics, but  I’d rather spend a spring afternoon outside in the sunshine than in a basement club with a two-drink minimum...PJ Media playfully suggests a JD Vance/Marco Rubio co-presidency for 2028. I could see the concept picking up traction on the right, looking for a unity ticket...Trump's beef with France. This morning in an angry Truth Social post, the peeved POTUS lashed out at this key NATO ally for not letting U.S. planes carrying military supplies destined for Israel fly over French territory. “The U.S.A. will REMEMBER,” wrote the president in an ominous, but vague threat...The Conservateur just dropped a glowing profile of Trump’s Chief of Protocol Monica Crowley. “For Crowley, the road began with a letter, a mentor, and a conviction that God orders a life more deliberately than we often realize in the moment,” observed writer Alison Cheperdak. Worth noting: Crowley’s early  mentor was disgraced ex-POTUS Richard Nixon...What’s the best  book on immigration ever written? American Greatness says it’s Paul Lake’s 228-page novel Cry Wolf: A Political Fable. The book, first published in 2008, has been compared to a 21st century “Animal Farm”...Finally, thanks to all of TheRighting’s Citizen Journalists who sent in images from Saturday’s No Kings rallies which are posted here.  They include: Jean Isler, Jeff Dorman, Howie Sholkin, Mark Scheerer, Campbell Dickerson, Shaun Dakin, Catherine Chayka, Paul Turner and Emily Zylber.... Can Dem Voters Really Be This Dumb?

source: Townhall

There is no bottom for Democrat to hit, as they truly believe their cause is righteous, and anything can be justified in pursuit of a righteous cause, or so they think. The average Democrat activist is seeking belonging and absolution of responsibility for their failures as a person, and they’ll take being called morons in pursuit of that, I guess.

Dems Hope to Hide Anti-American Policies Behind “Straight, White, Christian Man” 2028 Nominee

source: The Federalist

Democrats had their rears smacked and handed to them red hot in 2024, in large part because they wouldn’t accept that voters aren’t as preoccupied with race and sex as they are. It’s how they permanently screwed themselves with Kamala Harris, first as vice president and then inevitably as the party’s replacement nominee.

Have the Democrats Learned Anything?

source: The Free Press

They feel so good about the midterms that they’ve forgotten why they lost in 2024. But huge problems still linger.

What was meant as political sabotage has, by a mix of unintended consequences and momentum, strengthened Trump’s hand and reshaped the balance of power.

Trump Is on the Cusp of a Historic Achievement

source: Fox News

If Trump oversees the toppling of the ruling regime of the Islamic Republic of Iran, his achievements will rank with the greatest of those of any post-World War II president. That’s just an objective fact. If you don’t understand that fact, you haven’t been paying attention for more than 40 years.

MAGA + Seniors=Midterm Victory

source: American Thinker

Victory in 2026 will come from consolidating and mobilizing the voters most likely to show up, as well as those most likely to support the party. That means building an unapologetic coalition of MAGA voters and senior citizens.

Dethroning No Kings Day III

source: Conservative View from NH

By Ray Cardello: I have had a chance to step back and look at the recent version of No King Day in America and to make some observations beyond the emotions of disgust and disdain that I felt for the event and participants last week. Unfortunately, I still have those emotions, but I have added sadness and disappointment to the mix.

Bulls Cut Jaden Ivey After He Brands NBA’s Pride Month as “Unrighteousness”

By Andrew Powell: I personally don’t see what Ivey said wrong, and I quote: “Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.” — Leviticus 18:22 It’s literally the law of God, our creator. What exactly is the problem?
