Greetings! The name game: In another disturbing Truth Social post last night, the playful POTUS wondered aloud if the Strait of Hormuz should be renamed the Trump Strait. There was no indication whether this name change, with potential significant geo-political consequences, was a joke or serious. I’d be in favor of renaming it Trump’s Straight Jacket, because it has our crazy president in such an awful bind. Worth noting: Memo to Trump barnacle and stenographer Natalie Harp: In the post you composed for your boss, you called it the “Hormuz Strait.” It’s the Strait of Hormuz...The Wall Street Journal continues to hammer President Trump in its usually conservative opinion pages.  In today’s edition, there are two op-eds critical of POTUS: Karl Rove, former GOP advisor to George W. Bush, characterizes Trump’s strategy for the midterms as a losing plan. And Kate Odell, a member of the Journal’s editorial board, describes the Navy’s carrier fleet as “overstretched.” In the same edition, the Journal published an op-ed Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA), who is often mentioned as a possible 2028 presidential candidate.  The article by Khanna supports California’s controversial wealth-tax proposition that will come before the state’s voters in November...Just go away: Hunter Biden, Joe’s troubled, wayward son, announced on the Luke Beasly Show Podcast that he was “48.6 percent gay.” I wish he’d put a cork in it so we don’t have to be constantly reminded of the political troubles he caused his dad when he was president. Apple bends the knee: Apple Maps, which until yesterday resisted changing the name of Lake Ontario to Lake America, caved in an apparent attempt to avoid the White House’s evil eye.  As you may recall, an executive order from the pouting POTUS, who was miffed about Canada’s pushback on his tariff policies, led to his order to change the name (NBC News). Worth noting: Mapquest, the 30-year-old online mapping app, has now become the most popular navigation tool in the U.S. on Apple’s App Stores, per The Guardian. The app not only continues to use Lake Ontario, but brags about it according to a recent X post...The conservative Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC) has compiled a list of recently departed MAGA mouthpiece Karoline Leavitt’s most stinging rebukes directed at what the site calls “liberal reporters” asking probing questions at White House press briefings. Editor Shane Harris calls it her greatest hits (cue the gagging)...The Gateway Pundit reports that police raided the apartment of Rep. Ilhan Omar’s son and confiscated guns and ammunition.
