According the BDS website, the movement claims “Israel is occupying and colonising Palestinian land, discriminating against Palestinian citizens of Israel and denying Palestinian refugees the right to return to their homes.”

U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar proposed a resolution this week supporting the right to boycott Israel, likening the boycott of the Jewish state to boycotts of Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union. Omar’s resolution seeks to push back against U.S. laws banning the boycott of Israel and affirms the right of Americans to organize boycotts of foreign countries if they so wish.

Republican Congressman Lee Zeldin, who’s Jewish, called out Muslim Congresswoman Ilhan Omar for her continued anti-Semitic rhetoric, noting that she continues to support Hamas-linked anti-Jewish groups. Zeldin was reacting after Omar gave a speech during a House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing supporting a resolution promoting the BDS movement.
