President Trump and his supporters at the rally were simply exercising their First Amendment rights of free speech and peaceable assembly. The president’s refusal to concede an election marred by reports of widespread fraud which troubled many voters was not an incitement to violence, nor was his presentation of evidence of a stolen election.

Across the country, BLM and Antifa were coddled. Portland allowed them to set up an autonomous zone in the middle of the city. In liberal cities, politicians told cops to back off and pushed for more lawbreakers to be released without bail or no charges. The thugs who attacked the Capitol were met with officers fighting back at barricades and tear gas. Guns were drawn and, in one case, deadly force was used.

So much for Mr. Unity. Biden is out to whip up division -- black against white, cops against civilians, lies against Trump. He's not about unity, he's about stoking as much division and chaos at he can, and the chaos at the Capitol was just the perfect opportunity.

Cruz is a sellout. One day after a historic civil rights march by Trump’s supporters on the U.S. Capitol, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) is calling the participants “despicable terrorists” for opposing the vote steal and demonstrating their displeasure with tyranny in a manner in which the founding fathers would have approved.

The Democrats are all on their high horses after Wednesday, pretending that they are peace-loving and the bringers of unity to the Republic, but we’re actually reaping the seeds that they’ve sown. Unrest has been the leftist modus operandi for a very long time but it has greatly escalated during President Trump’s time in office.

Rudy Giuliani called for “trial by combat.” This was demagoguery of the most grotesque kind. It should also be remembered as a result of the devaluation of character. Trump’s critics have dwelt — even harped, we’ve been told — on his character flaws. But his extreme indifference to truth, his eagerness to spread conspiracy theories, his unwillingness to take responsibility for his own failures: All of it has had real consequences.
