TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! “Quiet, Piggy”: Yes, those are the two words Donald Trump used to admonish Bloomberg White House correspondent Catherine Lucey. Her crime? Lucey had the temerity to ask a question to the MAGA-in-Chief  about the Epstein files while flying aboard Air Force One. The Hindustan Times has the story, including a photo of Lucey who does not fit the description the potty-mouthed POTUS slapped on her...Trump “is a man in obvious mental decline.” That’s the assessment of The Bulwark’s Jonathan Last regarding Trump’s failing cognitive capabilities in an insightful essay. In the piece, Last  deconstructs Trump’s incoherent November 17 speech to a convention of McDonald’s franchise holders and employees.  His analysis is chilling....Earlier this week, the NY Post’s legendary 95-year-old gossip columnist Cindy Adams attended a swanky affair at Mar-a-Lago – and went to bed early.  The Donald traipsed through into the ballroom looking for his old buddy Adams;  however she had already retired.  Here’s the full account of her taxing day. Earlier this month, Adams wrote about how a phone call from her “pal,” the president, had awakened her after she retired early for the night...Speaking of the Social Security set, happy 70th birthday to the National Review, one of the granddaddies of conservative news outlets... Books Beat: Controversy-courting CNN in-house Trump mouthpiece  Scott Jennings just published A Revolution of Common Sense. Tagline: How Donald Trump stormed Washington and fought for Western civilization. (That sound you hear is me gagging.) In a Truth Social post, the President predictably touts the Jennings tome...If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Howard

TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! Apologies for the late delivery. Epic problems with my newsletter provider. Let's hope tomorrow is a better day...Much to the dismay of the Wall Street Journal, political dynasties are a hot trend this fall.  The headline of this editorial, which especially targets a young Kennedy running for office, says it all: Jack Schlossberg and the Case Again Political Royalty. Jack Schlossberg, son of Caroline Kennedy, and grandson of JFK, has his eye on a key New York congressional seat that will become vacant when Rep. Jerry Nadler retires next year.  Writer Jack Butler expresses disdain at Schlossberg’s thin resume which includes work in a surf shop and employment as a Vogue political journalist. “American voters don’t owe Mr. Schlossberg the favor of an elected position because of his name,” Butler writer.  “To believe otherwise would be to admit that what the Kennedys always meant by ‘public service’ was self-service.” Ouch! I’m still giving the 32-year-old political neophyte, who would serve my district, a serious look. He gets points in my book for trashing wacky cousin RFK Jr...Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) has a big fan in Ray Cardello, editor of Conservative View from NH.  “I was dead wrong about this man,” Cardello confesses in his latest column. “He continues to prove himself a voice of reason in a Senate chamber that is significantly lacking in it”...Kash Patel’s gal pal of three years, conservative country western artist Alexis Wilkins, has been the target of violent threats. The Daily Wire has the details...No King: Four Stephen King movies have tanked at the box office this year, per Breitbart.  They include “The Running Man,” “The Long Walk,” “The Monkey” and “The Life of Chuck”...MAGA Clickbait of the Day: This Outkick headline caught my eye: MAGA Bikini Congresswoman Triggers Libs in Tactical Gear.  Buried deep in the story was an image of Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) in a stars and stripes one piece....If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Howard

How New Mexico Democrats Covered Up Epstein’s Crimes

America may have no kings, but New Mexico had two influential ones. Bruce and Gary King. Former Gov. Bruce King had been a power player in the state from the 50s through the 90s. During his final years in office, King sold what would become the Zorro Ranch to Jeffrey Epstein for $12 million.
