Trump revealed on  Fox News yesterday that he is considering making Venezuela the nation’s 51st state.  The Donald has coveted the oil-rich nation as a U.S. possession for some time, according to USA Today...Dept. of Man Bites Dog: A Trump family-affiliated nonprofit helped rescue 1,500  beagles from a Wisconsin research facility, per SteveGruber.com.  The beagle liberation movement was the result of efforts by Big Dog Ranch Rescue, where Trump’s daughter-in-law Lara Trump is a board member.  Last year, at a Big Dog Ranch Rescue benefit at Mar-a-Lago, both Donald Trump and Elon Musk helped the event raise more than $4 million. Never would have guessed that Trump would raise a hand to help a dog...The Hantavirus can be spread relatively easily, as this NY Times op-ed suggests, contradicting claims by the World Health Organization. Greetings! Weird. The free Trump White House daily newsletter that I receive every day featured a salute to Mother’s Day showcasing The Donald’s mother Mary Anne MacLeod Trump with this caption: “The Mother Who Saved America.” The president has quite a Jesus complex brewing...Funny. Killer Saturday Night Live open this weekend featuring Kash Patel (played by Aziz Ansari), Pete Hegseth (Colin Jost) and Brett Kavanaugh (Matt Damon) in a DC bar doing shots.  The jokes were extremely unflattering and I wonder how they landed with the trio, especially the thin-skinned Hegseth....Former TIME magazine editor and writer Richard Zoglin makes some stark comparisons between the media maverick Ted Turner, who died last week, and Donald Trump, especially as it pertains to philanthropy. “(A)s he grew richer and more famous, Turner plowed his money into public-spirited ventures that never would have occurred to Donald Trump,” writes Zoglin in a column for TheRighting. “(Turner) was open-minded, naïvely optimistic, confident in his ability to affect the world in positive ways. He had the life spirit. Trump is the death star”...The Trump-controlled Truth Social platform outperformed by a wide margin all other news websites monitored by TheRighting in April.  According to TheRighting’s research, year-over-year visits ballooned 45% last month.  All other news websites decreased except for a very modest increase at the Epoch Times.  The surprising three-month trend shows that the war with Iran is not driving more eyeballs to news websites...Kash Patel has penned an op-ed for Fox extolling the virtues of his agency's “AI overhaul” which he claims is producing record-breaking results for the bureau.  He concluded his essay writing, “America is safer than we’ve been in decades.” (Cue the gagging)...If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting.
