TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! Hissy fit: Trump blew his stack during Kristen Welker’s “Meet the Press” interview over the weekend and wound up cutting the sitdown short. Here’s the explosive video of the interview’s last minute. He disliked her questions about election integrity and just steamrolled her with his lies and insults. It's no wonder that I'm no longer a fan of mainstream media interviews with Trump because they mostly serve no purpose other than provide a megaphone for him to vent....The “60 Minutes” Watch: Fired correspondent Scott Pelley is still talking. The NY Times published a long Q&A with him over the weekend in which he teared up several times. He accused CBS News honcho Bari Weiss of trying to inject Trump’s warped POV into a piece on the two Minneapolis protestors who were shot and killed by federal immigration agents this winter. But it’s time for Pelley to step out of the spotlight before he overextends his welcome...Another thing to worry about: The Ebola outbreak currently ravaging the Congo and neighboring countries is now the third worst ever.  One of the reasons for the poor medical response to the crisis, according to The Hill, is the Trump administration’s decision to kill the U.S. Agency for International Development....The circus is coming to town. I’ll be outside Madison Square Garden tonight for the Game 3 in the NBA finals featuring the Knicks and the Spurs. Trump plans to attend, which is a major buzzkill. Even without Trump, pandemonium was guaranteed with Knick fans eager for their first title since 1973.  The Wall Street Journal observes that Trump and Mayor Mamdani will be rooting for the same team tonight....If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Howard

California’s Choice

California’s decline was not destiny but the product of political choices that turned America’s greatest success story into a cautionary tale.

Scott Pelley Mistook “60 Minutes” for His Personal Throne Room

He chose a public confrontation, then reached for victimhood like a man who confused tenure with ownership.

Scott Pelley Snivels to the NY Times

source: Victory Girls

The dramatics from Scott Pelley are the gift that keeps on giving! He did a sniveling sobbing sit down with the New York Times. The entire interview is ALL about him. He claims he was there to represent. Instead he insists that all the firings, including his, “murdered” his 60 Minutes family.

Scott Pelley Isn’t a Serious Journalist

source: Washington Free Beacon

In his posture against Bilton, Pelley portrayed himself as possessing the journalistic credibility his new boss lacked. This is a little like Jeffrey Epstein calling out the NYPD’s Special Victims Unit for their lack of caring about underage girls.

U. of Florida Latest Presidential Pick Is a DEI Pusher

Florida is supposed to be the state where woke goes to die. So why is the new presidential pick for the University of Florida a DEI enthusiast?

At Texas A&M, Falling Enrollment Isn’t a Concept

source: The Dispatch

In 2024, the school received more than 65,000 freshman applications, and declined thousands from qualified applicants simply for lack of space. Unlike more exclusive schools, Texas A&M’s stated mission as a land-grant university is to “keep its doors open to as many Texans as possible.”

How Journalism Schools Are Baking Bias Right into the Cake

source: Daily Wire

The lesson implicitly being taught is that if a journalist believes strongly enough in a narrative or a specific side of an issue, the journalistic ethics we’ve been taught can be bent or altogether forgotten to fit that narrative. At best, this kind of subpar journalism produces an uninformed society. At worst, it empowers activist movements that cause more harm than good.

Alien Alert: Is the Truth Out There? Yes, It’s on Trump’s Immigration Website

source: SteveGruber.com

Whether you think it’s brilliant political messaging or peak trolling, one thing is certain: the White House found a way to get Americans talking about immigration while half the internet was expecting flying saucers.

Dodgers Break Out Annual Pride Night Hats, Drawing Brutal Reactions

source: Fox News

It's June, which means the baseball world will be on edge for the next 25 days or so.  For those who don't know (and that's none of you, because it's everywhere), June is Pride Month. Haven't you heard?! That mean's it's rainbow hats and social media posts. And, of course, the Texas Rangers angering half the country because they don't do any of it.

When you have Democrats leading the way with politics and business negotiations, relocations happen, and that’s what’s going on with the Bears.

TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! The “60 Minutes” Watch: For those of you who think that replicating the success of “60 Minutes” on another outlet (or digital platform) is easy, think again.  The annals of TV history are littered with the bones of newsmagazine that went down in flames.  For instance, in this 1992 article from the LA Times, 15 failed NBC newsmagazines were cited featuring some of the best known correspondents in television at the time.  Nine years later NBC trotted out “Rock Center with Brian Williams” which cratered in less than two years...Dept. of Sticks & Stones: This is how a satirical piece in the Washington Free Beacon described the just-fired “60 Minutes” correspondent Scott Pelley: “(B)est known as one of the deep-voiced commentators who helps America's senior citizens fall asleep after football game.” For the record, as a loyal “60 Minutes” viewer of a certain age, I never fall asleep during the broadcast. Worth noting: Right-wing fire-breathing podcaster Megyn Kelly just described Pelley as a “prick,” according to the NY Post....I’m no fan of former Trump National Security Advisor John Bolton, but I believe he’s being unfairly punished by the Trump administration for publishing his White House memoir in 2020. Team Trump is trying to crush the man. The editors of the Wall Street Journal feel the same way too...Weekend Watch: Netflix delivers a solid three-part documentary diving into the explosive 2005 trial of pop singing sensation Michael Jackson on child molestation charges. I’m two-thirds through Michael Jackson: The Verdict and my verdict is thumbs up. Even though I knew the  trial’s outcome, the program consistently held my interest about one of the entertainment world’s most captivating and strangest figures...If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Murder “60 Minutes”? Yes, Please

source: Washington Free Beacon

The programming for at least the last 10 years has been unoriginal, lazy, and little-watched by the media elites who are suddenly its biggest champions.
