Greetings! French lessons: From observing right-wing media this week, it’s obvious to me that Trump and leading GOP politicians are using the violent protests shaking France to drive home their anti-immigration messages.  In other words, vote for a Republican Nov. 3 so the United States won’t become France. Newsmax echoes the same thought in its lead article on its website this morning. I believe that the timing of the protests harms the Democrats just days before the midterms by increasing their vulnerability on the immigration issue...Will this become a national cause célèbre? The College Fix reports that a California high school football captain has been reprimanded by his school after he posted “Free the Cornell 7” on his Instagram.  The post then resulted in about 200 high school students at Piner High School in Santa Rosa, CA, walking out of classes earlier this month in protest of his post. It was not disclosed what punishment – if any – the football captain received.  The case has already drawn the attention of renowned conservative law professor Jonathan Turley who has written that the football captain’s post is protected speech under the First Amendment...Dept. of Corrections: Yesterday, I incorrectly referred to “60 Minutes” correspondent Lesley Stahl as Leslie, as one eagle-eyed reader pointed out...A relatively recent interview of Trump shows up in the second episode (at the 21-minute mark) of the four-part Netflix documentary on former heavyweight boxing champ Mike Tyson. Trump was one of the financial backers of the legendary 1988 Tyson-Michael Spinks championship bout. If you look closely, it looks like Trump’s right eye is half-closed which seems like another example of his declining health...No kidding! MAGA Flashback: Recently defenestrated White House press secretary Katie Zacharia wrote an op-ed for the California Post (sister of the right-leaning NY Post) back in February about the time her gym “caved” to anti-MAGA bullies and how she fought back.  Apparently, her fellow exercisers were upset that she was wearing a pro-Trump hat. The most telling part of the article was that it featured a photograph of her in work-out garb revealing her six-pack stomach and trim figure. The image displays her narcissism and offers another clue as to why Trump may have wanted to hire her.  Worth noting: The rehabilitation of Zacharia’s reputation has already begun with this favorable editorial about her in the NY Post by Joel Pollak, formerly of Breitbart...Same old “60 Minutes”? NewsBusters reviewed correspondent Leslie Stahl’s lead piece Sunday night about the Trump administration’s intimidation of state officials who oversee elections and concluded that it was just another example of the popular newsmagazine’s years-long “Trump bashing.” “So far in the newest season of ‘60 Minutes,’ each episode has featured a story with an anti-Trump or anti-Republican framing,” wrote NewsBusters’ Nicholas Spinnato, “...disproving those who feared CBS and ‘60 Minutes’ were turning into MAGA TV and proving it was the same old ‘60 Minutes’”...To judge from Trump’s Truth Social feed this morning, you’d think that the most important issue on his mind is his planned renovation of DC’s East Potomac Golf Links.  He (or Oval Office barnacle Natalie Harp) uploaded  more than three dozen images of run-down sections of the golf course in a series posts (here’s just one)...Watch yer’ back Dr. Fauci! Trump advisor Peter Navarro’s latest book Why Fauci Must Rot in Prison hits book retailers today. Nasty!
