TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! Phrase of the day: Elite overproduction. It’s when “when members of the elite (or those with the talents to join it) become too numerous for society to accommodate their aspirations,” explains Andrew Stuttaford in the National Review.  Seems like a fancy way of saying there are not enough jobs for recent college grads...Book news: The Federalist editor-in-chief Mollie Hemingway has written a biography of conservative Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito. And, of course, our  erudite POTUS gave full-throated support for the book in a Truth Social post. Wanna bet he hasn’t and never will read it?...Backlash against The Boss: Ticket prices for Bruce Springsteen’s current tour hit some sour notes with NJ.com’s Bobby Oliver. “Springsteen’s artistic identity, as a bleeding-heart populist who sings for the destitute and downtrodden, has never been more disconnected from his economic behavior as a touring act or businessman,” writes Oliver. Tickets sell for nearly $3,000 and “No Kings” t-shirts fetch $90, he claims. The right-wing Hollywood in Toto website took note too... Hollywood in Toto also targets George Clooney and his wife for donating $1 million to the Left-leaning Southern Poverty Law Center in 2017. The group is now under investigation by the Justice Department for allegedly funneling money to pay leaders of certain hate groups for inside information. That led to this head-snapping headline in Hollywood in Toto: Did George Clooney Help Fund KKK, Unite the Right?...If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Howard

SPLC Is a Hedge Fund with a Dumb Anti-Racism Newsletter

source: TheFederalist

They have close to $750 million  invested in securities. They own corporate stocks and they’re mad about racism, in that order. There’s a reason the watchdog organization CharityWatch gives the SPLC an F as a charity: They keep doing aggressive fundraising while they have far more money than they need to pay for their actual work.

History Will Absolve Trump on Iran

source: Newsmax

Donald Trump's actions can and will save civilization while fanatics chanting "Death to America!" will inevitably fail. Trump understands this because he sees the world as it truly exists, not as the left dreamily believes it to be.

Nearly 30 years “down the tracks,” Springsteen has launched his “Land of Hope and Dreams Tour.” Except now, instead of “all aboard,” it’s “No MAGA is welcome.”

Media Networks Shouldn’t Hire Steve Kerr or Doc Rivers After False Claims About ICE and Bobby Burack

Rivers accused ICE of 'murder' and refused to walk it back; Kerr admitted he misspoke about federal agents

Confirm Kevin Warsh to Head to Fed ASAP

source: NY Post

If the Senate wants to fight inflation and put the US economy on an even keel, it should confirm Kevin Warsh to head the Federal Reserve Board as soon as possible.

Ten Commandments, Not So Much. Muslim Prayer Rooms, Absolutely

source: Conservative View from NH

The Osseo Public School District in Minnesota is building a “prayer room” in one of its high schools that is “undoubtedly for Muslim students. This room is actually designed as a prayer room and a foot washing station. This will take up more space and cost far more than the Ten Commandments that were removed in 1962.

TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! And happy Earth Day, tree huggers and anyone who supports environmental protection (which includes myself).  I’m guessing it’s not on Donald Trump’s calendar...Tucker’s about-face: In his Monday podcast, Tucker Carlson apologized for “misleading people” about Donald Trump and said he was “tormented” about his support for the president.  It was an astonishing admission from the popular chatting head and former Fox News personality. Here’s the full podcast. It’s more than two hours long and I didn’t have the stomach to wade through and find the apology....Mamdani’s curse?  Sports fans following baseball are surely aware of the NY Mets jaw-dropping 12-game losing streak. And now the blame for that streak has fallen on NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani for hugging the team mascot in early April, which “cursed” the team, according to the Washington Free Beacon. “Some have speculated that Mamdani is punishing the Mets for giving their players too much money,” opined writer Andrew Stiles about the mayor who is a democratic socialist. “Another possible explanation is that Mamdani simply despises a sport that is widely regarded as ‘America's pastime.’ He prefers soccer, a so-called sport that is more accurately described as an anti-American abomination in which players compete to see who can fall down the most and pretend to be injured”....Townhall columnist Star Parker thinks the best speech about the meaning of the Declaration of Independence was delivered by Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas April 15 at the University of Texas. Here’s the full one-hour recording of his presentation...If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Howard

Earth Day’s Flawed Premise

source: Washington Examiner

It’s Earth Day, and the Left has one mission — no, not to save the environment, but to make you feel terrible about yourself, especially as an American. Every April 22, we are invited to feel guilty for driving, flying, eating meat, having children, and existing as a prosperous, industrial civilization.

This Earth Day, the climate movement will once again make their chicken little cries, but the uproar is a far cry from recent years past

This Earth Day, Disregard Paul Ehrlich and Embrace Abundance

Tucker Carlson’s Trump Regret Tour

source: The Daily BS

Let’s be real: political conversions in Washington are about as rare as a quiet cable news panel. People evolve, sure — but when a central figure of the populist right suddenly pivots to apology mode, it’s going to raise skepticism.

What Happened to Tucker Carlson and His Opinion of Trump?

source: Victory Girls

When the message shifts like this, it creates confusion. And confusion isn’t bad for business. It keeps the audience engaged, keeps the conversation going, and keeps the podcast microphone front and center. It takes the focus off of Donald Trump and keeps the focus on the podcaster. Cha-ching!

Dems Celebrate After Virginia Decides to Disenfranchise GOP Voters

Most Republicans in Old Dominion are likely to go unrepresented unless the Virginia Supreme Court takes action.

The Rise of the Dearborn Democrats

source: National Review

Michigan Democrats had to choose between a Hezbollah-sympathizing radical and a perfectly respectable former Barack Obama attorney. Given the drift of the party, it wasn’t a difficult choice — it was the virulently anti-Israel extremist all the way. At their convention over the weekend, Democrats selected Amir Makled as their nominee for a seat on the University of Michigan Board of Regents.

Dems’ Plans to Jail ICE Agent Makes the End of the Roman Empire Look Quaint

If Democrats continue down this path, all for the blinding and undying hate of one man, then they tempt a similar reaction.
