Yes, Trump Will Leave Office If He Loses

Washington Examiner

It’s worth noting that whatever Trump may say in public, he has not lived up to the wildest dreams of critics to become some sort of dictator. He may fume about the fake news, but he isn’t exactly jailing journalists. He may issue executive orders and criticize judges who block them, but he hasn’t been casually defying court orders.

MSNBC May Soon Reward Homophobic Conspiracy Theorist with Plum Prime-Time Gig

Washington Examiner

Joy Reid does not seem to know much of anything, let alone obscure details of American political history. Worse still is her embrace of the absolute worst trends in modern political discourse. There is no anti-Republican conspiracy theory she will not promote, no anti-GOP slander too malicious for her to repeat, and no anti-conservative remark too uninformed and insipid for her to utter.

Removing Theodore Roosevelt Statue Is a Step Too Far

Washington Examiner

Opponents of the particular statue have complained that having Roosevelt towering over the African and American Indian figures is evocative of subjugation of other races…However, like many figures in history, Roosevelt is complicated. For instance, he took a lot of heat when he invited friend Booker T. Washington to dine with him in the White House — the first time such a thing had ever happened.

John Bolton Memoir Pollutes Senate Republicans

Washington Examiner

Every Senate Republican except for Mitt Romney now owns every single damaging revelation about President Trump reported in the memoir of former national security adviser John Bolton. Those revelations should stick to the GOP senators like Velcro. They have covered for Trump, ignored his instability and indecency, excused his lies and ignorance, and willfully pretended his corruptions don’t exist.

With Its Attack on The Federalist, NBC Embraces All-Out Political Activism

Washington Examiner

One of the largest and most powerful news organizations in the U.S. petitioned one of the largest and most powerful corporations in the world to demonetize a tiny website because it published allegedly problematic language. If this is not a violation of Google’s “Don’t be evil” corporate code of conduct, it is certainly a violation of the First Amendment principles which NBC News claims to honor and defend.

Don’t Ditch the National Anthem at Sporting Events

Washington Examiner

Oftentimes at sporting events, the PA announcer will ask people to rise and remove their caps “to honor America” with the national anthem. Honoring the U.S. shouldn’t be a political issue. There are certain aspects about America that are far from perfect (for conservatives, legalized abortion being one of them), but we believe in the opportunity to make positive change.

Riots Are Going to Be the End of Lockdowns

Washington Examiner

NY Mayor DeBlasio has allowed riots, featuring thousands of people in close proximity with only scattered use of masks. How, then, does he justify cutting off outlets New Yorkers use to beat the summer heat after months of being cooped up indoors? As the public watch similar scenes play out in dozens of cities, why should they comply with bans on church gatherings?

The Left Wields Its Science Club

Washington Examiner

So, are the Democratic Party and the broader Left really “the party of science”? During the pandemic, they have wielded the claim like a club to bludgeon those who demur at the idea that governments need only defer to epidemiologists and healthcare professionals to get policy right. Counterclaims for economic vitality and the exercise of human nature should not, they imply, weigh heavily on political scales.

Social Distancing Is Not a Waste of Liberty or “Living in Fear”

Washington Examiner

Conservative commentators should refrain from shaming those who, on taking stock of their own circumstances, have decided to remain at home to reduce their risk of coming down with, or spreading, the coronavirus. Be particularly wary of any pundits using our fallen heroes’ sacrifices as political fodder…and advocating mass-shaming groupthink to encourage people to engage in behaviors that could have serious and even deadly consequences.
