If the McConnell wing of the Republican Party is not defeated, the GOP will eventually perish. It is either the “America First” agenda of Donald Trump or the MAGA supporters will form a new party. Grassroots Republicans are furious, and that anger is not going away.

As radio host Erick Erickson pointed out, “The Mandalorian” star Pedro Pascal has a still-active tweet from 2018, captioned with “#ThisIsAmerica” and juxtaposing photos of concentration camp-bound Jews with what appear to be illegal alien children detained behind bars at the U.S. southern border (a practice largely begun by then-President Barack Obama, actually). Naturally, Gina Carano was fired for her deleted post, but Pascal will keep his perch.

They want to paint a dark, ominous picture of the American political landscape, one that firmly places anyone who questioned the 2020 election or even supported former President Donald Trump as not just political adversaries, but enemies and even outlaws who want to overthrow a democratically elected government.

President Trump was taking America in the right direction. That direction, refocusing on the core principles that indeed made American great to begin with, is certainly the place to start: limited government, capitalism, sanctity of life, faithfulness to our Constitution and the rule of law.

They’re pushing the narrative that Trump incited an insurrection to violently overturn the government. Feel free to debate Trump’s culpability in all this (and ignore his express words calling for a peaceful march), but you should reflect on this bad-faith attempt to tie Trump supporters to this event and depict all of them as radical white supremacists.

Decisions about vaccine sharing should not be left to public health “experts” whose globalist views are now ascendant in Washington, D.C. Helping the world is important, but America needs to take care of its own first.

It is Biden, not Republicans, who is pledging an agenda to unify the country. But so far, the new administration’s position seems to be: Why bother to find common ground when you control all of the levers of governmental power and you can steamroll over them instead? What is to be gained by uniting with people who are “white supremacists” or “insurrectionists”?

Every cable news channel that kept the latest deaths (which was always a random and manipulated figure), new infections (which we only knew from a surge in testing), and the neon glow lettering that had announced them on permanent display in the lower third or in static boxes on one half of the screens have just suddenly vanished. He cannot control Democrats’ ability to politicize events and impeach him. But, if they do it, he can take control by resigning. He can take the high, high ground, in contrast to their low, low ground. He can take responsibility for the horror that just occurred at the Capitol, because it occurred on his watch.
