The CBS sitcom “United States of Al” is about a former interpreter from Afghanistan who comes to the US to live with a soldier he’d worked with during the war. Now the show is being criticized for casting a non-Afghan actor in its titular role. The producers made the mistake of casting an actor not from Afghanistan, like Afghanistan is a race.

Why would anyone enjoy this idiocy? It’s all about dollars and cents.  So lawmakers should present the basketball players an offer they cannot refuse. They can either stand for the national anthem and keep their scholarships or they can take a knee and go dribble their balls on their own dime.

Section 1005 of the bill offers women and minority farm owners debt forgiveness of up to hundreds of thousands of dollars per farmer. An amazing offer — but white men need not apply.

This appears to be a D.C. farce.
