In the name of “crime-equity,” stealing under $950 has been essentially legalized, drug possession is overlooked, violent offenders are released without bail, many categories of crime are no longer prosecuted, prisons have been emptied out, and arrests have plummeted because cops have been told to “stand down.

We don’t like to always pick on California (OK, we actually do!), but the latest jobs data by state illustrate just what has gone wrong in the Golden State, and much of the rest of blue state America. They have become overly reliant on government for growth.

America Must Demand Change Before Bailing Out California

It will take hundreds of billions of dollars to rebuild Palisades — and Altadena, and Malibu, and the other hard-hit communities. And California doesn’t have the money. We don’t have the money because we spend on things like free health care for illegal aliens, rather than building new reservoirs, or clearing the brush from forests.

California Needs to Back Away from Radical Environmentalism to Get Aid

California’s Democrat majority refused to conduct basic forestry management and maintain water supplies because of their radical environmental ideology. Its identity politics led to incompetence at every level of city management. And its monopolistic energy utilities and tolerance for homeless encampments may have started the fires.
