Joe Biden, after promising to unite the country as a centrist president, has taken a radical turn by tapping California Attorney General Xavier Becerra to oversee the vast Department of Health and Human Services. Becerra has repeatedly described himself as a proponent of the socialized health insurance scheme currently branded deceptively as “Medicare for all.”

If Trump were to have taken our advice and conceded, right now, he could be helping Republicans win the Georgia races by arguing exclusively that voting for Sens. It’s funny how liberals and cable news talking heads insisted that Attorney General Barr was an untrustworthy fiend acting as Trump’s “personal lawyer” right up until he came out to say that the Justice Department had not found enough voter fraud to have made a difference in the election. Now that Trump does not even have his attorney general supporting him, Trump should follow Nixon’s lead. While still insisting that meritorious allegations of anomalies be investigated, Trump should concede the election and honor the tradition of a peaceful, stable transfer of presidential authority.

If the GOP loses both of those Georgia Senate races, Schumer will become Senate majority leader, and he will be Pelosi’s partner in trampling on our personal and economic freedoms. His behavior, regardless of justified or unjustified excuses, debases the esteemed office he somehow holds. But Democrats clutching their pearls over the embarrassment can calm down and get their own caucus in order.

Faced with such a flawed incumbent, Democrats could now be celebrating total control of the levers of power. Instead, they lost ground (and seats) and must look at their failure in such favorable circumstances and recognize that it’s because they flirted with or promised extreme policies and connived at violent mobs whom decent people wanted stopped, not enabled.
