They want to divide the party in two, except the party is not divided in two in any real sense. There is the 99% of the GOP that wants to crush the Dems, and the 1% that wants to ogle the Liz Cheney centerfold in this month’s edition of Swamp Creature. But since our enemies can’t find a rift they will try to manufacture one.

This country is not headed in the right direction. A generation will soon be coming of age in which a large percentage of the population will have been denied a traditional family life. What happens when families fall apart or fail to form in the first place? Government, as this column has noted before, gets bigger and takes more control over people’s lives.

Biden needs a distraction from a lot of things, inflation being chief among them. It makes sense that he’s spewing things in such a panicked way that even the President of Ukraine is confused by it. You’d think the leader of the country “on the verge” of being invaded would be sounding the loudest alarm, but he’s not. The American President is.

Far too many blacks want to put the sole focus on white racism. In a way, claiming victimhood status seems to bring with it a “black privilege.” Blacks can make blatantly racist comments about whites without cost or condemnation. The media gives them platforms to express their hateful words, and they never even have to apologize.

Matt Vespa: I couldn’t care less about how a bunch of Native American tribes got wiped out. Sorry, there’s only so much RAM in my head. “Everything’s Going to Be All White” looks like just a bunch of rabid liberals spewing hatred and bigotry about white people…Most folks have other more important stuff to worry about, like working, paying bills, and not dying than sit around and be abjectly distraught about Wounded Knee 24/7.

Ronna McDaniel:  Violence has no place in our political discourse, period, and those who engaged in violence on Jan. 6 and committed crimes should be held accountable. But the awful events of that day do not justify Cheney or Kinzinger enabling a partisan committee whose purpose seems to be helping Democrats’ electoral prospects at the cost of potentially ruining innocent people’s lives.

Most of us see President Joe Biden’s falling job approval rating as a measure of his declining popularity. But for every candidate, Democrat or Republican, running for the House or Senate this year, Biden’s numbers mean political life or death. That is because the president’s job approval rating is an extraordinarily important factor in the upcoming midterm elections.

Americans are constantly bombarded with an insidious propaganda campaign against our shared history. From CRT to ripping down historical statues, our national story is being rewritten as irredeemably sinful. These efforts have taken a particularly racialized characteristic by implying that Black history is somehow distinct from, or in opposition to, “American history” itself, rather than an integral part of it.

Ian Miller’s “Unmasked: The Global Failure of Covid Mask Mandates” provides unflappable analysis that rips the veil off the misleading pseudo-science surrounding masking we’ve been force fed for two years to reveal the forbidden truth – that masking and mask mandates have done absolutely nothing to mitigate the spread of Covid-19 worldwide.

Douglas MacKinnon: I have never been more proud of my Canadian roots than during the last few days as I have tracked the “Anti-Vaccine-Mandate” trucker convoy making its way across Canada to its final destination of the national capital of Ottawa to scream out as one against the dictatorial edicts of the entrenched-establishment elites who “lead” the country.

Kurt Schlichter: The Ukrainians are getting a raw deal, and I hope they drown their invaders in a river of blood. But it’s not our fight. Research indeed shows benefits from a well-structured pre-K program. But absent are solid conclusions of lasting benefits. Most likely to benefit are low-income, disadvantaged children. But providing pre-K investment and then sending these children off to the broken K-12 public schools in these same neighborhoods is ridiculous.

If Donald Trump wants to be in the action, and he sure seems to want to be in the action, the Speakership is the perfect outlet for that. Kingmaker and king at the same time without the hassle of disloyal staffers looking for future book and cable news deals and a deep state bureaucracy looking to stab him in the back. It’s not as crazy as it sounds.

Kurt Schlichter: The Democrats’ “Biden is FDR and not just a desiccated, pervy old weirdo” dreams have died. Their dreams of five trillion in handouts to bums and donors have died.  Their dreams of enshrining their ability to cheat in elections have died. The Democrats can’t even shatter norms, like the filibuster, competently. So much fail in so little time.

Kurt Schlichter: I did Twitter poll on Trump v. DeSantis, which is unscientific yet still more scientific than the people telling you to wear a face thing. My previous one in June had Trump 45.7%, DeSantis 50.1% and others 4.1%. This week’s poll wasTrump 33.4%, DeSantis 59.7%.

The former prison island has reverted back to one, not only for those who haven’t gotten the shot, but even for those who have. The elected officials there are quite vocal about what they’re willing to do to anyone who won’t obey.

Instead of doling out free Covid-19 tests willy-nilly and encouraging everyone to test and avoid one another, we should be discouraging mass testing and eschewing any and all arbitrary restrictions on public gatherings. Leading red states such as Texas and Florida should lead the way by restricting the mass availability of testing for all but the vulnerable and immunocompromised.

Derek Hunter:  If you’re not willing to stand in line for a bit, go home. I don’t care how you would’ve voted, the world doesn’t have to cater to you.  End early voting, end no excuse absentee voting, require photo IDs from everyone. Hire more poll workers and open more polling places, but make voting a conscious decision requiring effort, not an afterthought..

Jan. 6 only lasted 3 hours, 1 shy of how long you’re supposed to wait before consulting your doctor if Viagra works too well. January 20, 2017, never stopped, spending the ensuing years rolling across the country bringing death and destruction that continue to this day. You can see why Democrats wouldn’t want to commemorate that, and why Republicans absolutely should.
