 While many developed countries are currently in the midst of dealing with COVID-19, the disease is just now starting to affect many developing countries.  Those countries will depend on the international community to assist them in responding to COVID-19, and an announcement that the U.S. is cutting funding to the WHO, regardless of the reality, will be interpreted as abandoning them.

Coronavirus Response Has Been Robust

The Trump administration’s response to the coronavirus outbreak thus far has been robust as the disease that originated in Wuhan, China, spreads across the world.  Through a combination of travel restrictions, quarantines, and keeping the public informed on the best public hygiene practices, the administration has focused on slowing the entry of the disease into the United States and then containing it.
